Service Update. Certain vehicles may have a front half shaft that missed the induction hardening on the inboard splines. Improperly heat treated front half shafts would have a shorter durability term. In the event a half shaft may fracture, there are expectations that noises would emanate from the front corner suspension region and continued use may cause damage to ancillary components. Dealers are to replace both front half shafts, deform removed half shaft and scrap appropriately. Private Message to select dealers.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to diagnose and repair vehicles that have a click, rattle or a squeak nose coming from the dash. Technician will use Service Information to locate the Accessory AC and DC Power Control Module located to the right of the steering column. Remove the power inverter module and apply two sided tape to the module bracket to insulate it from the mount. The instrument panel accessory bezel will also need to be removed. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel accessory bezel retainers. Also the instrument panel extension will need to be removed. Apply foam tape around connectors located under grill to prevent them from rattling on grill. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel extension retainers and apply a strip of foam tape along the edge of the grill to isolate the grill from the dash.

Technician may find following fuses F23DL F22DL F30DL F31DL F32DL with the ignition key in the off position to have voltage. Technician should not replace the Transfer Case Control Module. Technician will need to install a diode, part number 12112422, across the coil of the solenoid. It is important that the striped end of the diode be connected to the positive terminal of the coil and the other end of the diode be connected to ground.

Certain 2019 model year Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles may have a condition where the prop shaft bolts may not have been properly torqued to the front differential. Drivers will likely experience a vibration or clunking noise as the bolt(s) loosen when the vehicle is used in 4WD mode. If the vehicle continues to be driven after the vibration or clunking noise occurs, all bolts may eventually fracture. Remove front prop shaft bolts, add Loctite, and reinstall.

These issues can be caused by a low voltage conditions, but the EBCM incorrectly sets a DTC P0606 for aControl Module Processor Performance error. If the SI diagnostics are followed for DTC P0606 it can leadto amisdiagnosis and an incorrect repair. Dealers are advised to inspect for a low voltage condition and follow SI diagnostics forDTC P0562 "System Voltage Low". Engineering is trying to determine next steps in the resolution of this issue. It will likely be an update to SI or a change to the EBCM Calibration or both.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0701, P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0736, P0751, P0756, P0761, P0776, P0843, P0848, P0873, P0877, P0894 or P2723 can set by the following fluid service/filter change, transmission service involving removing the pan, low fluid level caused by leaks, or after long periods of storage. If the fluid level has been properly checked using the HOT check procedure listed in Service Information document 2408059 and any of the Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset during a cold start inspect the internal suction filter for possible cracks. If no other concerns are found inspect for a stuck lube regulator valve in the pump cover due to debris.
