SCREW, Hex Flange Head, Rack and Pinion Gear to Frame NEW MOUNTING BOLTS ARE REQUIRED WHEN EPS GEAR IS REPLACED. The steering gear mounting washers between the gear and frame were eliminated, and threads internal to the EPS mounts were repositioned which may cause the old bolt (or new bolts manufactured prior to 7/31/2021) to bottom out prior to achieving torque which can cause an NVH issue. For a new EPS gear (with mounting washers eliminated) please use 06510880AA bolts manufactured after 7/31/21). New bolts have a shorter shoulder length (approx 130mm) than bolts made prior to 7/31/21 (approx 140mm).

Motor Generator Unit Engineering is looking to avoid unnecessary part replacements for Motor Generator Unit (MGU) underhood whining noise and P1C64 faults. When replacing the MGU for a bearing noise, connect the scan tool to the vehicle and create a scan report to include with the claim prior to replacement of the MGU. See SOL case S2208000009 for added details. Please check Service Library for available TSBs for your concern. Follow current Service Procedures for each complaint, but call Engineering before removing MGU to gather further information.
