Gear rack and pinion: Custodian would encounter steer feel being heavier and may feel some pulling. Customer may complain the steering feels heavy while returning to steering wheel to center during a lower speed turn. Customer may also complain the vehicles pulls slightly at highway speeds. There are no DTCs associated with that scenario. Older software pull drift compensation and zero-point learning is not optimized. New Software has optimized pull drift compensation and zero-point learning. Do not replace the steering gear for these scenarios when an EPS DTC is not present. Reflash software instead.

Park Sensor Vehicles can have a warning in the cluster indicating that the park sensors are inoperative and to wipe the park sensors. If the sensors are clean and the message is still present there are 2 items that need to be checked - 1. Verify that the decoupling ring, the thin rubber ring directly around each park sensor, is not rolled or pinched. If an edge is rolled it can put excessive pressure on the sensor and cause the module to think that the sensor is blocked. 2. Verify the PAM PN. If the PN is 56029962AH, then the s/w is old and requires an update to at least 56029962AI level to fix the issue. If the PAM PN is 56029962AH please update it to the latest available PN.
