Flash: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Updates *Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs): ● P1B14-00 - Park By Wire Unintended Park Position. ● P1DF3-00 - ECU Not Initialized.** The customer may describe one or more of the following: ● **Secure idle feature not working with Powerpanel On. ● When shifting from Drive to Reverse and vice versa, the transmission detects a mismatch in Neutral as the gear shifter goes from Drive to Reverse through Neutral (D-N-R or R-N-D) and flashes the Neutral indication blinking on the shifter. ● The gear shifter takes too long to get ready when the driver starts the car, and the transmission system couldn't recognize which gear was selected. This gives a warning message "Shift to Park to Obtain Drivability" in the IPC and MIL lamp On. NOTE: For the condition above, the transmission remains in the Park position. ● Shifter can be moved with engine Off and key On while the transmission is in Park and a warning message is displayed in the IPC "Shift to Park to Start". Dealer technicians have reported failures involving camshaft cap bolts breaking within the cylinder head assembly. This can lead to damage to camshaft towers, camshafts, and other cylinder head components. In many cases, the entire long block has been replaced unnecessarily. Before replacing this part due to Engine Light On with P1CEA (Boost Side EVAP Purge System Performance), check for: 1) Improperly connected or kinked/pinched Purge Hoses at the Ejector Tees on the Air Box or Duct. 2) Improperly connected or kinked/pinched Purge Hose at the Purge Solenoid or OBD Valve. 3) Improperly connected or kinked/pinched Purge Hose at the Intake. 4) Check for the correct Purge Hoses installation.

This data collection is applicable to all vehicle with engines with sales codes: ERG, ERC, EH3 and ERF. To assist with monitoring and quality improvement of the 3.6L engine, every time a vehicle comes for any of the first 3 oil changes, please use wiTECH to record the total engine idle time and the total engine runtime. 1. Prior to perform the oil change connect wiTECH diagnostic tool. 2. Navigate to the topology screen on the action item section. 3. Once the topology screen loads, disconnect wiTECH and continue with oil change.
