14126A - SERVICE UPDATE (REVISED PROGRAMMING INFORMATION). THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES A SERVICE PROCEDURE TO REPROGRAM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER ON CERTAIN VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE AN ODOMETER READING AT PEEK IN (I.E. DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER (DIC) SCREEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN THE OFF POWER MODE BUT THE CLUSTER IS AWAKENED BY OPENING THE CAR DOOR OR USING THE KEY FOB) DOES NOT MATCH THE SEASON ODOMETER READING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN THE RUN POWER MODE. THE TRIP A/B AND FUEL ECONOMY DISPLAYS MAY ALSO BE INCORRECT. THIS CONDITION OCCURS, WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND, NORMAL PARASITIC CURRENT DRAWS DEPLETE THE BATTERY STATE OF CHARGE TO LESS THAN 12 VOLTS AND, THE VEHICLE IS IN THE OFF POWER MODE WHEN THE CLUSTER IS AWAKENED AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have Service messages in the Driver Information Center, Malfunction Indicator Lamp on, Erratic fluctuating engine oil pressure gauge, engine crank no start, and engine may run rough or misfire. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Technician should use published Service Information diagnostics for the Diagnostic Trouble Codes that are set. If the diagnosis does not lead to a resolution check for chafing of the engine wiring harness that is routed near the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. Technician should repair any damaged wiring and fully seat the wire retaining harness. Also the technician should bend the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve gasket over to prevent a re-occurrence.

If during the inspection of the fuel system contamination is found the complete fuel system will need to be cleaned and flushed. After the fuel system is cleaned out test the fuel using the latest version of PIT3173.

If Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0420, P24A0 and/or P2463 are found, inspect the inlet and outlet of the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst for signs of damage, if damage is found replace the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0701, P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0736, P0751, P0756, P0761, P0776, P0843, P0848, P0873, P0877, P0894 or P2723. Technician should follow published Service Information diagnostics for Diagnostic Trouble Code P0701 first. Technician will also ensure the fluid level is at the top of the hot band when the transmission fluid temperature is 175° Fahrenheit. Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0701, P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0736, P0751, P0756, P0761, P0776, P0843, P0848, P0873, P0877, P0894 or P2723 can set by the following fluid service/filter change, transmission service involving removing the pan, low fluid level caused by leaks, or after long periods of storage. If the fluid level has been properly checked using the HOT check procedure listed in Service Information document 2408059 and any of the Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset during a cold start inspect the internal suction filter for possible cracks. If no other concerns are found inspect for a stuck lube regulator valve in the pump cover due to debris.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have intermittent and hard to duplicate Rear Camera blank, distorted, or fuzzy. Also no radio, OnStar, or speech audio and the volume is unable to be adjusted from the integrated center stack or the steering wheel controls. The driver information center will show ?No Audio? in Audio mode. Technician will need to inspect X275 and X225 for bent terminals, terminals backing out of the connector, or terminals contacting another terminal behind each side of the connector and repair as necessary.
