Certain 2016 model year Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Corvette, GMC Yukon Denali and 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado LD, GMC Sierra LD, and Yukon Denali XL model vehicles equipped with 6.2L engines (RPO L86 and LT1) may have engines built with cylinder head gaskets in which the head gasket stopper ring was off location. The gasket may fatigue over time leading to the possibility of a leak into the combustion chamber after several thousand miles. Possible symptoms include: a check engine light for P0300 Misfire, possible combustion gas leaks to coolant resulting in overheating, over-flowed coolant bottle, milky-colored engine oil in the crankcase, piston scuffing and if the vehicle is continued to be driven in this condition, engine failure. Dealers are to replace the left and right side engine head gasket.

Remove the power inverter module and apply two sided tape to the module bracket to insulate it from the mount. The instrument panel accessory bezel will also need to be removed. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel accessory bezel retainers. Also the instrument panel extension will need to be removed. Apply foam tape around connectors located under grill to prevent them from rattling on grill. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel extension retainers and apply a strip of foam tape along the edge of the grill to isolate the grill from the dash.

Also shudder feeling that may be described as driving over rumble strips or rough pavement. Technician will drive the vehicle and monitor the torque converter clutch slip. The torque converter clutch slip speed should be 10 rpm or less also note if the shudder takes place during torque converter clutch apply. If the torque converter clutch slip speed is in the range of 10 RPM or less the condition is possibly related to engine performance. If the shudder is only present in 4 cylinder mode and torque converter clutch slip is 10 rpm or less deem the shudder concern normal characteristic of Active Fuel Management. If the slip speed is beyond 10 rpm or there is shudder during torque converter clutch apply the torque converter will need to be replaced with a updated part number.

The supplier of the transmission-wiring harness introduced an unapproved change to the temperature sensor (thermistor), resulting in incorrect oil-temperature readings during transition from cold to warm temperatures. This could cause a harsh shift when starting the vehicle at temperatures below 32ºF (0ºC); however, shift quality improves once the transmission oil warms up.

Check the upper oil pan as well as the upper oil pan to flywheel housing and the upper to lower oil pan. Leaks from the oil cooler can cause damage to the oil cooler O-rings. The engine block oil gallery cup plugs can also be a cause of the leak. If the oil gallery cup plug is found to be leaking replace all 3 of them at the same time.

Technician should start with diagnose per Service Information document ID: 2414199 by adding dye. If the leak is coming from torque converter seal, replace torque converter seal and inspect torque converter hub for possible sharp edges on the transition from flats to hub diameter that may damage the seal when the torque converter is installed. If sharp edges are found, dress the edges or replace the torque converter. If the leak is from any of the outer converter housing bolts, replace Separator Plate, both separator plate gaskets, the pump O-ring, and all the retaining bolts and seals. Install new copper washers under the two lower housing bolts. If Leak is through the torque converter housing casting replace the casting, the gaskets and the separator plate.

The technician will find diagnostic trouble codes C1115, C1116, C1117, or C1118. In most cases the chassis control module is not the cause of the trouble codes. The technician should inspect the wiring between the chassis control module and the trailer brake control switch. The inline connectors X185 or X138 as well as the connectors X1 and X5 of the X61A junction block should be thoroughly inspected looking for backed out, loose, poor retention or any other terminal issues. If there are no wiring concerns are found the trailer brake control switch is most likely the cause.

Remove the power inverter module and apply two sided tape to the module bracket to insulate it from the mount. The instrument panel accessory bezel will also need to be removed. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel accessory bezel retainers. Also the instrument panel extension will need to be removed. Apply foam tape around connectors located under grill to prevent them from rattling on grill. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel extension retainers and apply a strip of foam tape along the edge of the grill to isolate the grill from the dash.

For android devices pair the phone to the system during the pairing process the phone will ask you to allow the vehicle to access the device contacts. A second question will pop up on the device asking to allow the vehicle to access the message access profile. Both have to be allowed for the text messaging feature to work.
