This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the blower motor may be noisy or vibrate when running. This concern will only occur when the temperatures is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and if the blower motor is removed while still cold, ice may be found on the blower motor cage. This concern could be caused by water leaking or snow ingestion into the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning case. Technician is to perform normal water testing diagnostics while the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning is running, looking for water leaking past the plenum cover. If water is leaking past the cover remove the cover and install a 12x12 snow resistant screen to the fresh air intake. Reseal and install the plenum cover cap using Kent air dry sealer or equivalent.

This information was created to inform the technician that the 2-3 upshift and the 3-2 downshift clunk is caused by the releasing of the 2-4 band and application of the 3-4 clutch assembly during an upshift. Also during a 3-2 downshift, the releasing of the 3-4 clutch during the application of the 2-4 band, can cause torque reversal down the output shaft creating a clunk. This is a normal condition.

When receiving an incoming call through OnStar Hands Free Calling system, the vehicle does not ring. It will show on the screen. FM Timeshift not functioning properly. The folder track is not played when the folder is pressed for a long time. Missing Forward Collision Warning Chime on vehicles base audio system, Forward Collision Alert and/or Adaptive Cruise. Long press of the knob when highlighting a browse folder, sometime changes the media source from SD card to USB and when user releases the push knob, it brings the Media Menu back instead of showing the now playing screen for USB and SD card. The USB only works with Apple products (iPhone). Rear View Camera Issues: When shifting from Drive to Reverse is less than 3 seconds, the display will not transition to the rear view camera screen. When shifting from Drive to Reverse is more than 3 seconds, the display may be blank and will not show the rear view camera message Check Surrounding for Safety.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about systems operate during a remote vehicle start event. Dual Zone Auto Regular Production Option Code (CJ2) Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning settings the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning settings will remain set to the previous Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning settings when the ignition was turned off. Single Zone Manual Regular Production Option Code (C67) HVAC settings the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning settings will remain set to the previous Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning settings when the ignition was turned off. The Rear window defogger during a remote start event, the rear window defogger will turn on if the outside temperature is 44 degrees Fahrenheit (7 degrees Celsius) or below. The heated seats will not turn on if a Remote Vehicle Start event is performed within 2 hours of shutting the engine off. The cooled seats will turn to the high setting when the ambient temperature is above 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius). Heated steering wheel will not turn on during Remote Vehicle Start event.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician how to diagnose and repair vehicles with an engine that runs with an intermittent crank no start with a Diagnostic Trouble Code P0011 or P00C6 current or history. Technician will need to use Global Diagnostic System 2 to actuate the cam phaser solenoid 4 or 5 times then try starting the vehicle. Then disable the ignition and fuel system. After the ignition and fuel system are disabled try to start the engine. Technician can now unplug the camshaft actuator to perform the following. Install a 20A fused jumper wire between the terminal 2 and 12V. Tickle/tap the low reference terminal 1 to ground on the cam actuator magnet, while cranking the engine over. This may have to be performed more than once.
