Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.

This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off).

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 14-49 dated April 17, 2014. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. The customer feels the vibration while driving at highway speeds from 55 ? 80 mph (88 ? 128 km/h). This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic. If an applicable Repair Authorization is not followed, the claim will not be paid. The vibrations felt by the customer could be a result of the harmonic vibrations caused by the radial force variation (RFV) of the tires or an imbalance of the wheel and tire assembly.

Customer may report that the front brakes squeal during the first stop in the morning when vehicle is back out of driveway and when brakes are applied after driving direction is changed at slow speeds (such as during parking lot maneuvers). This condition may occur more frequently during cold weather conditions (without rain), and the noise will disappear as temperature increases. This PSS TSB does not apply to Q5 2.0T and Hybrid models. Various parts have been replaced under warranty for the condition noted above, but no issues have been identified with the replaced parts.

The GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the navigation map does not match the actual vehicle's location or actual direction of travel. The condition can happen sporadically or consistently. The condition does not happen during or immediately following the initial PDI inspection (once the vehicle has been taken out of transport mode). It is normal for the satellite reception to be 0 immediately after taking the vehicle out of transport mode. With the ignition off, the vehicle must sit in open sky view for 10-15 minutes before a GPS fix can be obtained. The vehicle is a Model Year 2013. The MMI navigation unit uses internal sensors in the main unit and vehicle sensor data to determine the direction and movement of the vehicle. The GPS system provides supplementary position data upon vehicle start-up, when the vehicle has been off for less than four hours. If the vehicle has been off for more than four hours, a more accurate GPS 3D fix is required, as the previous GPS data is not used and has been thrown out. The GPS 3D fix is obtained when the system acquires four or more satellites. In areas with limited sky view or with tall obstructions, the system can take an extended amount of time to acquire four satellites, or may not be able to acquire the satellites at all until the vehicle is driven into an open sky view area.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 13-44 dated August 26, 2013. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C pressure/temperature sensor, G395, leaks refrigerant. This causes sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, to sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and Cabriolet, and Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure. The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 13-53 dated September 10, 2013. On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, a steering warning may briefly display in the instrument cluster when the engine is restarted after improper use of the clutch pedal. For example, the warning may appear when the engine is restarted after the clutch pedal has been released too quickly during low-RPM, low-speed parking lot maneuvers. symptom codes may be stored in the diagnostic log under the power steering control module. The vehicle system voltage drops when the starter motor is operating. Because the power steering control module has a parallel circuit with the starter motor (terminal 29), this normal voltage drop may set a symptom code within the scenario described in the Condition section of this bulletin.

The vehicle's anti-theft alarm sounds when the driver door is unlocked with a mechanical key. No DTCs are stored. The keyless remote was not used to unlock the vehicle. In order to minimize current draw after the ignition has been turned off, the electronics system of the vehicle goes into sleep mode. During this time, each module monitors the CAN bus more slowly than when the electronics system is awake. Because the system is being monitored more slowly, there is a delay in the waking of the central locking system. This delay causes a delay in the disabling of the anti-theft alarm system when the manual key is used. If the key is turned in less than a quarter of a second, the system can unlock the vehicle even though the anti-theft alarm has not been disabled.
