Service Update - Certain vehicles equipped with a 2.7L turbo engine (RPO L3B), may have a condition where the engine wiring harness may have been wrapped and/or routed incorrectly, creating the potential for wear-through in several locations. If this occurred it could allow the engine harness to short to ground and/or be severed, which may lead to a check engine light, reduced engine power, no start condition or in rare cases a stall. Dealers are to inspect harness for correct tape wrapping and install engine harness sleeves.

Service Update - In some vehicles, equipped with diesel engines, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system may not immediately reactivate, as it should, after the vehicle?s control system finds that a DEF heater fault is no longer present. In these vehicles, after such a fault is detected as absent, DEF system reactivation, including DEF injection, may not occur until the ignition key is cycled. Dealers are to reprogram the reductant control module.

An intermittent short circuit is being caused by wire bonds moving under high current and thermal load, making contact with adjacent wire(s) in the transmission control module (TCM). This Preliminary information communicates A vehicle may have a concern of running poor and stalling. No trouble codes may be set referencing this condition. Fuel trims around -20% may be observed on both banks. Engine oil level will be found over full and have a fuel odor. It will be found that the Engine oil is diluted with fuel. Small gas engines (SGE) May only have the engine oil level over full and have a fuel odor. It will be found that the Engine oil is diluted with fuel. This concern is caused by marshalling the vehicle around the lot before it is sold and/or short driver cycles.

Along with these messages, a SES MIL will be on and the brake pedal may feel hard. When checking for DTC's the Brake System Control Module (BSCM) with have set a P0606 and C0021. Dealers are to reprogram the BSCM with updated calibrations to correct the concern.

Customer Satisfaction Program - The brake system control module software in these vehicles may contain an error. If (i) the vehicle is started remotely using the MyChevrolet, MyGMC, or MyCadillac mobile app or (ii) the driver enters the vehicle and waits five or more minutes before starting the vehicle using the ignition, this software error can, in rare cases, disable the vehicle?s electronic brake assist and illuminate the ESC, ABS and BRAKE telltales. This occurs at startup and the telltales are illuminated before the driver puts the vehicle into gear. Dealers will reprogram the brake system control module.
