Technician will need to inspect the terminals at the Engine Control Module for fit and tension as well as the crimp to wire connection. Terminals to inspect in the ECM are connector x2 terminals 3, 18, and 19 for the fuel rail pressure sensor. Also connector x3 terminals 16 and 32 for the high pressure fuel pump.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

The concern is only with rear wheel drive 6L45 or 6L50 automatic transmissions with Regular Production Option Code MYA or MYB apply. Apply thread locker to the transmission output shaft flange splines and install a new front propeller shaft flange nut. Apply thread locker to the new propeller shaft flange nut if it does not contain a pre-applied adhesive patch.

13313 - SPECIAL COVERAGE. SOME VEHICLES, EQUIPPED WITH A 6.2L V8 ENGINE (LSA), MAY HAVE A CONDITION WHERE THE ENGINES SUPERCHARGER MAY NOT FUNCTION AS DESIGNED. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN, THE SUPERCHARGER MAY DEVELOP A NOTICEABLE RATTLE NOISE AT IDLE. THE NOISE WILL TYPICALLY GO AWAY WHEN THE ENGINE RPM IS RAISED SLIGHTLY ABOVE IDLE. HOWEVER, IF LEFT UNCORRECTED, THE PROBLEM, OVER TIME, MAY LEAD TO CONTAMINATION OF THE LUBRICATING GREASE AND CAUSE THE BEARING TO SQUEAL. IF LEFT UNADDRESSED, THE BEARING MAY OVERHEAT AND CAN CAUSE ENGINE SEIZURE OR A NO-START CONDITION. DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE THE SUPERCHARGER.

The Electronic Brake Control Module may have one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes C0035-C0050 with specifically symptom 18, 5A, or 0F. Technician will gain access to the correct wheel bear per the Diagnostic Trouble Code that is set. If debris is found on the magnetic encoder ring it will needed to be cleaned.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about three different conditions some vehicles may have with the Fog Lamps. First condition that the fog lamps are inoperative and the vehicle is vehicle is equipped with the High Intensity Discharge headlamps Regular Production Option Code T4F. This is a normal operating characteristic. No repairs are recommended. The second condition is that fog lamps are inoperative and the vehicle is vehicle is equipped with the halogen headlamps Regular Production Option Code T4A. This is also a normal operating characteristic based on the vehicle build. Fog lamps were not offered on the LS trim level coupes. The third condition would be the customer asking for the fog lamps to be added or turned on. General Motors does not have an approved fog lamp kit that can be installed on a Camaro that was not originally equipped with that feature.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that have check engine light and a misfire. Technician will find a P0300 set. If the misfiring cylinder is creating NO or very low power, technician will need to follow these diagnostics steps. 1) Swap the ignition coil and spark plug with another cylinder. 2) Inspect the plug when out for wet or dry condition. 3) Perform an injector test with a scan tool. 4) If the plug is wet then check for a leaking or stuck open injector. 5) If the plug is dry then enrich the intake air with propane. If the severity of the misfire is less with enrichment, suspect a weak or inoperative injector driver in the Engine Control Module and replace as needed. 6) Perform a cylinder leakage test to determine if there is a valve sealing concern. If there is a valve sealing concern see the latest version of PIP5029 for recommendations.
