This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician only to provide additional tips when diagnosing a front heated seat concern and is not meant to be a diagnostic flow chart or replace Service Information. Always, perform and refer to Service Information for the latest diagnostic information and procedures. Trucks equipped with heated and cooled seats Regular Production Option Code (KB6), may comment on any of the following front heated seat concerns. Condition 1, a front heated seat (back and/or cushion) is inoperative. Technician should diagnosis each affected seat heater individually. Technician should test all four circuits Power, Ground, Control (from Body Control Module) and Heating Element Supply Power. The Power, Ground, Control (from Body Control Module) can easily be checked by starting the engine and turn on the cooled seat. When the cooled seats are turned on the blower in each seat back and cushion will turn on at that point technician will be able to hear the blower moving. The heating element supply power circuit can be test by disconnecting the affected heating element and connect a voltmeter across the heating element supply power and ground circuit. Then start the engine and turn on the heated seat, the blower will supply system voltage on the element supply power circuit for 1 to 2 seconds. With the heated seat element disconnected, use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance of the heating element. If all of the above steps check ok or the heating element resistance is close to the approximate spec, reconnect all disconnected connectors. Connect a voltmeter across the affected heated seat element connectors supply power and ground circuits back probing the connector. Then check the resistance of the heating element. The resistance should be close to the same resistance as when testing with the connector unplugged. Now check the voltage with the engine running and the heated sets on high. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles with erratic or hesitation when opening and closing the power lift gate. There may be a diagnostic trouble code B153A set in the power lift gate module. This concern could occur if the left lift gate actuator is internally coming apart. The actuator will need to be replaced however care must be taken when removing the actuator from the vehicle. If the internal portion of the actuator had completely separated the end of the actuator could become a projectile when removed. Obtain a number 8 self-tapping screw that measures 1 ½ inches long. Fully open the lift gate and install the screw anywhere in a 30 millimeter space from the bottom of the smooth tube to secure the tubes. Continue with the lift gate actuator by following the lift gat power assist actuator procedure in service information.

This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician of steps to take if Pandora is inoperative or experiencing intermittent operation. 1. Verify Pandora is installed on the device. 2. Make sure the device is Bluetooth connected and paired to Cadillac CUE. 3. Make sure stations have been created in Pandora on the device. 4. Launch Pandora by selecting the Pandora Icon on the Integrated Center Stack and allow a few moments for the App to start on the device. 5. Make sure the Bluetooth volume on the device is turned up or on. Pandora volume is controlled by the device since it is a Bluetooth application. 6. Pandora is controlled by the devices connection and data signal. If the device has a poor data signal Pandora may not play. 7. If Pandora is successfully working, the device should display "Accessory". 8. Apple devices must be connected via USB to the vehicle to launch Pandora. Customers can use the "Bluetooth" input under the media selection to stream audio but will not have full control of the device using the radio. 9. Some Android phones require a setting in Pandora to allow Pandora to access automotive audio. Launch Pandora on the phone, in Pandora select settings in the upper right hand corner of the screen, select "advanced" and make sure "Bluetooth for Automotive" is checked and enabled. 10. If all of the above tips have been verified, and the message "No Internet Connection" is displayed on the Integrated Center Stack screen, CUE is not picking up the devices internet connection. Ensure that the device has adequate battery life and a good data signal. Check to see if Pandora can be heard through the device itself. If Pandora is playing through the handset device, try repairing the device and/or switching to a different audio screen and coming back to Pandora. 11. If Pandora is installed on a phone and a media device is also connected, such as an IPod that is hardwired to the vehicle, there may be confusion.

The concern may be most noticeable while the engine is operating in 4-cylinder Active Fuel Management mode in the 1,100-1,400 RPM range. If the noise is excessive it may excite the roof sheet metal and compound the issue, if this concern is found refer to the latest version of PIT5318. If the concern is qualified to be present during V4 mode operation, but is deemed to be normal by comparing to a like vehicle, then no further repairs should be made, as this is a normal characteristic. If the concern is qualified to be present during V4 mode operation, but is deemed excessive by comparing to a like vehicle then continue with the direction in the Preliminary Information. Vehicles equipped with the 6.2 liter engine and noise cancellation, the noise cancellation may not be working or working incorrectly this can be the cause of the issue. Technician should inspect for aftermarket audio components, objects blocking the microphones or speakers, Diagnostic Trouble Codes B0560, B1277, B127C, or B127D. By the technician pulling the fuse for the amplifier the noise cancellation will be disabled if the noise improves there may be an issue with the noise cancellation system. Technician should inspect the exhaust system also. Exhaust should be checked when it is hot and cold while the vehicle is in neutral, forward and reverse gear. Inspect the exhaust system for loose and/or missing fasteners, heat shields damaged, joints and/or couplings not properly seated, bracket and/or insulator mounting concerns, inadequate clearance to body and/or chassis components, improper alignment, disconnected and/or missing insulators, cracked, dry-rotted, and/or oil-soaked insulators, stretched, twisted, broken, torn, and/or collapsed insulators, and bent, twist

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a Service 4WD message on the Driver Information Center when operated below 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius). Technician may find C0398 or C0326 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module. For vehicles with Regular Production Option Code NQH and NQ6 and only setting Diagnostic Trouble Codes C0398 or C0398 and C0326 the replacement of the actuator motor will correct the concern. Dealer will need to contact General Motors Product Quality Center for further assistance. For vehicles with Regular Production Option Code NQH and NQ6 with other transfer case Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If the vehicle had a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 in the transfer case control module stored with any other codes such as C0392, C0396, C0306 or other codes related to rotational position sensor or actuator position sensor it is likely that is causing a C0398 to set and replacement of the actuator will likely not repair the vehicle. For vehicles with Regular Production Option Code NP0 and only have a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 stored in the transfer case control module, the technician should insure the transfer case control module calibrations are up-to-date in Tis2Web.
