Tech Tips (Comfort Module (J393) or BCM (J519) Replacement): This document informs if a comfort or body control module is replaced during normal diagnosis, make sure the factory mode has been switched OFF. This can be accomplished by selecting guided function of either the J393 or J519 or control module OBD of J393 or J519 then selecting adaptation channel 99. Failure to deactivate factory mode will create a concern where the door locks will not lock and/or unlock with the switch and/or the remotes.

Tech Tips (AC Compressor Replacement, Refrigerant Circuit Flushing Requirement): This document informs when replacing the Air Conditioning compressor it is necessary to flush the entire system to remove all the PAG oil. Replacement AC compressors come with a full charge of oil. Any time another compressor is installed with a different vendor (such as Sanden to Denso) it is necessary to replace all the oil in the system to the new vendor type PAG oil. Every piece of trim the repair manual has you remove is very important to create the clearance needed to remove the headliner from the vehicle and get the new headliner into the vehicle. Incorrect torque converter or flywheel/flexplate installation can result in transmission damage. When installing an engine, flywheel or transmission, please follow the installation procedures outlined in ELSA. For the flywheel/flexplate, please be certain the correct shim is installed between it and the crankshaft (reference VWIQ120). When installing a torque converter, press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop. Turn the torque converter while pushing toward the transmission using light force, until the cut outs in the torque converter hub lock into the pump wheel plate. The torque converter slides in. The torque converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission bell housing. Additionally, it should spin freely when the transmission bell housing bolts are torqued to the engine block, prior to installation of the flywheel to converter bolts (reference VWIQ121).
