Some vehicles (without power seats) may exhibit a driver seat that gradually moves down by itself. This concern may be caused when a load, which is applied to the seat during braking, exceeds a certain level that could impact the retaining mechanism of the seat lifter causing the seat to gradually move downward. To eliminate this concern, the play in the lift mechanism gears has been reduced.

Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory (P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738). P0842:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 1 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on, P0847:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 2 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on, P0872:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 3 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on, P0780:00 - Gear shifting malfunction, P1738:00 Automatic transaxle internal malfunction. This is caused by the oil pressure switch A and/or B at the control valve body temporarily or permanently getting stuck due to contamination entering the passage. To correct the problem, some mass production changes have been implemented to reduce contamination and improve the DTC diagnostic logic. Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. ï· In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of MazdaâÂÂs vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. This condition is usually worse during high humidity conditions. "Mazda Air Cooling Coil Coating" is available to encapsulate the mold to reduce odors. If the product is properly applied, it can effectively reduce the musty/mildew odor for up to three years.

Some vehicles may exhibit the cushion tape (1) attached to the front end of dashboard coming off and showing at the base of the windshield. This is caused by the cushion tape peeling off from the end(s) due to interference with the windshield and vehicle vibration (CX-5/Mazda6) or from the gap between the dashboard and the cushion tape because there there is no rib (1) at the dashboard ends (Mazda3). To prevent the tape from peeling off, both ends of the cushion tape are now folded over to the back side of the dashboard (CX-5/Mazda6) or stapled (Mazda3).

Some vehicles may experience the TCS/DSC indicator light and the TPMS warning light both ON with DTC C0051:62 stored in memory. DTC C0051:62 - The difference between the initial learned value of the steering angle (as calculated by each sensor) and the steering angle (as calculated by the steering angle sensor) while driving in a straight line, has exceeded its allowable tolerance (or threshold). NOTE: For vehicles equipped with the Smart City Brake System (SCBS), the master warning light also comes ON with the message "SCBS Inspection Required" in the display. The symptoms may occur when the following conditions are met: After starting the engine, the vehicle is driven backwards while the steering wheel is turned to the left or to the right or going forward over a bump while turning the steering wheel. The vehicle is then driven forward and begins accelerating while the steering wheel is still turned. To eliminate this concern, the DSC HU/CM software has been changed.

P0842:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 1 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on P0847:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 2 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on P0872:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 3 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on P0877:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 4 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on P0780:00 - Gear shifting malfunction P1738:00 - Automatic transaxle internal malfunction This is caused by the oil pressure switch A and/or B at the control valve body temporarily or permanently getting stuck due to contamination entering the passage. To correct the problem, some mass production changes have been implemented to reduce contamination and improve the DTC diagnostic logic. NOTE: If the vehicle also has a delayed engagement concern, this TSB is not applicable. Refer to the instructions on MGSS (SLOW ENGAGING AFTER OPERATING SELECTOR LEVER FROM N TO D POSITION [FW6A-EL/FW6AX-EL]) or (SLOW ENGAGING AFTER OPERATING SELECTOR LEVER FROM N TO D POSITION [EW6A-EL/EW6AX-EL]) for proper diagnosis and repair procedure.

When pressing the START/STOP button, the ignition may not turn off on some vehicles equipped with a gate-type AT shifter. Although the shift lever is in âÃÂÃÂPâÃÂàposition and the engine shuts off normally, the ignition may stay on (in accessory mode). Some customers may describe this concern as "the radio stays on" or "the radio is staying on". This concern may be caused by a worn switch unit. To eliminate this concern, the switch unit material has been changed to improve wear resistance. Modified switch units have been established as new service parts.

Some customers may complain of condensation/fog inside the front (headlamp/headlight) or rear (taillamp/taillight) combination lights. The recent new models have been fitted with a clear lens which can cause the symptom to be more noticeable, however, it does not affect the performance of the light. This condensation/fog is a natural phenomenon that occurs when there is a fairly large temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the light housing. It is normal for very small water drops to appear in certain locations on the light units where the air is stagnant (condensation), making the lens look whitish (fog). This happens mostly in the corners and narrow spaces, and will typically clear during warmer ambient temperatures, or when the lights have been on for some time.

When pressing the START/STOP button in very cold weather, the ignition may not turn off on some vehicles equipped with a lock release button (1) on the selector lever knob. Although the selector lever is in the "P" position and the engine shuts off normally, the ignition may stay on (in accessory mode). NOTE: This TSB only applies if the selector lever knob is BHN2-46-030* or BHN4-46-030* with the lock release button. If not, this TSB does not apply. This may be caused by the lock release button in the selector lever knob sticking in the pressed position. In accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. NOTE: Tampering with a motor vehicle odometer is strictly prohibited by Federal, and State laws. It is the dealer's responsibility to comply with Federal, State, and local laws concerning odometer and related documentation requirements when providing a repair or replacement. Mazda vehicles are manufactured with tamper-proof speedometers. When a speedometer is replaced, the new speedometer will read zero (0) miles. This procedure is extremely important to accurately represent actual vehicle mileage. Prior to speedometer removal, complete the information required on the "Speedometer Replacement Label". Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of Mazda's vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. With the use of SPECMO's services, it is possible that the odometer will be set between 10 to 31 miles over the odometer mileage at the time of replacement for both warranty and customer pay repairs. Please make sure that the customer is aware that there may be a slight variance to the odometer, in which case the customer may have to accept the slightly higher mileage. Since odometer setting service is not part of the warranty repair, it is not warrantable nor required, but optional. However, Mazda Warranty policy provides after-warranty assistance (AWA) or DSA that can be utilized to cover this service expense.
