Technician will need to remove the grill and grille on GMC vehicles and Chevrolet built in Ft. Wayne, 11th Vehicle Identification Number Position (Z). For Chevrolet built in Silao, 11th Vehicle Identification Number Position (G) do not remove the driver's side bolt, loosen the tow hook bolt and then cut the head off of the bolt. The new tow hooks come with new bolts. Install the bolt from the opposite direction.

13331 - Service Update. Replace the SIDI high pressure fuel pump. The SIDI high pressure fuel pump in these vehicles may have been misbuilt. This could result in extended crank, rough idle, DTCs, MIL for low fuel pressure, and possible loosening or fracture of the pump body-to-flange bolts.

13330 - Service Update. This bulletin provides a service procedure to address incorrect calibration values in the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system. These calibration errors can cause the hydraulic lifters to actuate at the wrong time, when the combustion chamber is under high pressure. If this occurs the hydraulic lifter can be damaged and the affected cylinder will no longer operate. To correct this condition, dealers will reprogram these vehicles with a new ECM and TCM calibration.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on and a constant engine misfire. If Service Information diagnosis isolates no compression on the misfiring cylinder(s) with 100% leakage into the crankcase, perform the following steps as necessary before disassembling the engine. Technician will use a lighted bore scope if available to inspect the top of the related piston(s) through the spark plug hole to determine if any of the pistons are melted. If damaged piston(s) are found inspect for aftermarket parts. Also use the latest version of 09-06-04-026 to verify if there are aftermarket calibrations in the Engine Control Module. Take photos and document accordingly if anything is found.

Technician will need to insert the key and measure the gap from the key to the cylinder. If the key is not going in fully the ignition lock cylinder will need to be replaced. Also obtain a new key that is cut to the vehicle. Technician will need to shorten the key shank by grinding or cutting 6-7 millimeter (1/4 inch) off the tip of the key, and then bevel the tip of the key. Now the technician can install the new ignition lock cylinder.

13310 - Service Update (bulletin cancelled). General Motors is cancelling Service Update Bulletin (SUB) 13310. After further investigation, it has been determined that some of the vehicles originally involved in SUB 13310 will not have the seatback condition. The following is an explanation of the status of vehicles involved in SUB 13310. Vehicles that may display the seatback condition, but have not had the repair in SUB 13310 performed, will be transferred to Noncompliance Recall 13323. These VINs will show a closed status for SUB 13310 in IVH on October 3, 2013. Vehicles that were built prior to August 1, 2013, will not have the seatback condition. These vehicles will not be transferred to Noncompliance Recall 13323 and will show as closed in IVH October 8, 2013, which will allow dealers to submit warranty transactions on vehicles that have already been repaired. Do not repair any additional vehicles under SUB 13310.

Technician should be advised Windshield reduces UV rays down to 4% or less. Front side door glass reduces UV rays down to 35% or less. Windshields are SOLAR glass with a light transmittance of >/=70%. Front door glass are Solar glass with a light transmission of >/=70%. Rear door glass, quarter windows and back windows can use either Solar glass (>/=70%) or Privacy glass, which has a light transmittance of 20%.

13304 - Customer Satisfaction. Certain vehicles equipped with a Snow Plow Prep Package (RPO VYU) may have been assembled with an incorrect generator. This option calls for a higher amperage generator (RPO KW7); however, on some vehicles a lower amperage generator was installed. Over time, the lower amperage generator could result in premature battery rundown and possibly a no-start condition.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician the steps to diagnose and repair the concern of the display is showing 32° F (0° C) after a battery or reprogramming a module. The outside temperature will begin to update if driven above 20 mph for at least 5 minutes. If the vehicle speed drops below 20 mph, the timer will reset and the display will stop updating. Once the display starts to update it may take several more minutes of driving above 20 mph for the display to fully update. Also if the vehicle is shut off for more than 8 hours the display will update when the ignition is turned on.
