Technician should inspect the trunk mounted radio amplifier for any signs of moisture. Technician will need to Replace the amplifier if water is present and replace any terminals that have corrosion. Also water test the trunk, sunroof, back glass and roof areas. Technician will need to fix any water leaks and clean out all drain tubes.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

12313A - Special Coverage (revised part information). The chrome layer on the balance chain pins may wear, allowing the chain to stretch. This would cause an engine noise, and if left untreated, could cause the chain to break, leading to engine damage. In addition, the fuel pump plunger shaft seal may wear and allow fuel to leak into the crankcase, setting P0172 DTC, and illuminating the Malfunction Indicator Light. This can cause engine run-on and/or the engine to run rough. If this condition occurs within the stated terms, dealers will replace the engine balance chain and fuel pump.
