These reports have indicated that these vehicles, when operated in specific cold climate areas (Cold Climate States1) with high road salt usage, or exposed to other environmental factors, may exhibit more-than-normal corrosion to the vehicle?s frame. 1 ? District of Columbia (DC), CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT, WI, and WV. Although perforation of the vehicle?s frame is covered by Toyota?s New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first), we at Toyota care about the customers? ownership experience. Toyota is providing coverage for repairs related to vehicle frame corrosion perforation. A separate program will be announced in the future and will include CRC (Corrosion Resistant Compound) application. Toyota is currently preparing parts and approvals for the CRC application process. CRC application will be covered under a separate Limited Service Campaign (LSC K0D) for a period of two years and will only be available for vehicles registered/regularly operated in the Cold Climate States that do not meet vehicle frame replacement criteria. This Limited Service Campaign has not yet launched at the time of this publication. Toyota expects to launch K0D in phases beginning in the Fall of 2019. The expected schedule can be seen in the chart below.

TT: The current engine active test ?Control the Injection Mode? is not operating as desired when controlling the direct injectors manually on 2GR-FKS engines. When direct injection is started and then stopped using the active test, current ECU logic does not turn off the direct injectors and can cause DTCs P017200, P017500 and P0160300. To avoid this condition, technicians should raise engine RPM when changing back and forth between the Direct Injection and Port Injection active tests. Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles. NOTE: If the active test is used multiple times without using this procedure to raise engine RPM, it may be necessary to reset learning values for fuel trim and Air to Fuel ratio before returning vehicle to customer.

TT: Precautions regarding lift point interference with frame hole plugs: To help prevent water from entering the vehicle's frame, hole plugs are installed in certain locations of the frame during manufacturing. ? One of the hole plug styles allow water to drain from the bottom of the frame yet block water from entering. ? This one-way drain plug is located near a usable frame lift point. If the technician does not take note of the location of one-way drain plug, it may be easily crushed by the shop lift's arm.

TT: In the event that injector seal repair is required on vehicles equipped with a direct injection fuel system, a Special Service Tool Set is required to properly install the seal onto the injector. As new vehicle configurations have been released, several injector seal tool sets have been distributed to accommodate these new vehicles. There are a total of three injector seal tool sets for Toyota models, located in the appropriate SST cabinets. Each kit contains multiple pieces as shown in the diagram below. SUPERSESSION NOTICE The information contained in this bulletin supersedes SB No. T-SB-0012-13. Flash reprogramming allows the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software to be updated without replacing the ECU. Flash calibration updates for specific vehicle models/ECUs are released as field-fix procedures described in individual Service Bulletins. This bulletin details the Techstream ECU flash reprogramming process and outlines use of the Technical Information System (TIS) and the Calibration Update Wizard (CUW). Flash calibration updates can only be applied to the vehicle/ECU combination for which they are intended. ECUs have internal security that will not allow them to be programmed with another ECU's information.

Some 2016 ? 2017 model year Tacoma vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission may exhibit a vibration felt in the seat, floorboard, and/or steering wheel between 10 ? 30 mph caused by a driveline vibration under deceleration. NOTE This Service Bulletin ONLY applies to 4WD models equipped with 6AT. Do NOT use the spring part number found in the Service Bulletin for any manual transmission vehicles or PreRunner models. This could lead to NEW, non-existing issues. If the vehicle has an aftermarket suspension/body lift or leveling kit installed, this bulletin does NOT apply.
