TSB: Some 2018 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 10) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 4). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system. Follow the process in this bulletin to perform the update.

Moisture from blow-by gases condenses and accumulates in the engine oil during short trips in extreme cold weather. When the moisture in the oil freezes, the oil pressure may drop, and the aforementioned warning indicators may display. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to address these conditions.

TT: NOTE: This document only applies to certain audio packages for the following vehicles. 2019 C-HR (Audio Plus & Premium Only) 2020 Prius (Audio Only) 2020 Prius Prime (Audio Plus Only) Head unit telematics services become inoperative after DCM replacement and activation if the guest has an ACTIVE Verizon Wi-Fi Pre-Paid subscription. Head unit services include Wi-Fi, Destination Assist, Dynamic Navigation, and Dynamic Voice Recognition. Verizon is not able to transfer the Pre-Paid subscription to the new DCM automatically. As a result, the guest is unable to use their head unit telematics services. At this time if the DCM is replaced and activated before confirming the guests Wi-Fi subscription status, this may require Verizon?s IT to perform a manual fix on the customer?s account. To simplify the diagnosis and prevent the unnecessary replacement of parts, please refer to the procedure below. NOTE: This Tech Tip does not apply if the guest is currently under their Wi-Fi Trial.

TT: Some 2018-2020 model year UA80/UB80 transmission equipped models may experience a leak from the Transmission Side Cover. This issue is currently under investigation. Vehicles are being sought regardless of months in service or mileage. Only seeking vehicles with leaking transmissions with no other signs of damage to the side cover.

TT: Some customers may encounter Bluetooth® connectivity concerns such as: ? Difficulty to pair the phone. ? Intermittent Bluetooth® failure to connect to the vehicle when first turning on the vehicle. ? Various Bluetooth® Audio functions are no longer functioning with customer?s phone such as ability to change the track using the steering wheel controls. These concerns can be caused by changes made on the customer?s phone. Make sure to inquire with the customer if the connectivity concerns occurred after receiving an operating system update on their phone, or if they have restored their phone data/settings recently.

TT: Some vehicles may display an error message that displays "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." after the Display Control Unit (DCU) or navigation Multimedia Extension Unit (MEU) is replaced if the Phase 3 (CarPlay) retrofit is not applied prior to replacement. Panasonic exchange MEU and DCU parts are now being shipped with Phase 3 software installed.

TSB: REVISION NOTICE August 09, 2019 Rev2: ? Step 25 of the Software Update Procedure section has been updated with a Note. May 28, 2019 Rev1: ? The Introduction and Software Update Procedure sections have been updated and the Software Download and Extraction Procedure has been added. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. The procedure in this Service Bulletin is a full reformat of the multimedia system. Failure to follow the procedure exactly as written may cause damage to the head unit. This reformatting changes the system from a Phase 2 to a Phase 3 system, which includes Apple CarPlay® and Amazon Alexa?. The reformat requires all linked files and folders extracted from the zip file to be placed onto the root directory of the USB flash drive, otherwise damage to the head unit will occur. NOTE Performing this update may change certain head unit operation conditions. For a full list of changes, see System Limitations and FAQ.

Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Some 2018 - 2019 model year Camry and Camry Hybrid vehicles with a panoramic roof may exhibit a gap between the interior center garnish panel and roof and/or an interior center garnish panel that is loose. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.
