12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: ï· CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 ï· CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ ï· DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ ï· DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. The DCA-8000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandca8000.midtronics.com/

CVT Warranty Extension In an effort to assure customer satisfaction, demonstrate our confidence in continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), and to address customer concerns including those expressed by customers in the class actions, Nissan will extend the warranty coverage on the CVT. The warranty extension includes the CVT assembly and internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals, CVT control valve body, torque converter, cooler kit (if applicable) and reprogramming of the Transmission Control Module (TCM), on the vehicles listed in this announcement. The warranty is being extended from its original duration of 60 months/60,000 miles to 84 months/84,000 miles (whichever occurs first). Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Nissanâs New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. If an owner contacts a dealer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, verify warranty coverage for the specific VIN and then inform the customer of any diagnostic charges. NOTE: Some owners may have opted out of the warranty extension by excluding themselves from the class action settlement, thus it is important to check the VIN for each vehicle to verify coverage. 2. Use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns. NOTE: Dealers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre-approval from the Powertrain Call Center (800-973-9992, option 2) for any vehicles requiring CVT replacements when the replacement cost exceeds a Dealerâs Claims Administration/Authorization Limits (DCAL). Control valves and CVT belt and pulley kits do not require pre-authorization for repairs made under warranty.

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) Class Action Owner Notification On March 23, 2022, the Court presiding over a class action lawsuit gave final approval to a proposed settlement under which the CVT warranty will be extended for the following vehicles: 2014-2018 Rogue 2015-2018 Pathfinder *Not including Rogue Hybrid or Pathfinder Hybrid vehicles The approved settlement and the warranty extension are expected to become effective by June 1, 2022. Additional communication will be distributed prior to the warranty extension going into effect. To be clear, for the time being there is no warranty extension, and you should proceed with CVT-related claims as outlined below in bullet point three (3) under What Dealers Should Do. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. No action is necessary at this time. Nissan will provide additional instructions prior to the effective date of the extended warranty, which is expected to be June 1, 2022. 2. If a customer contacts the dealer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, dealers should use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns. NOTE: Dealers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre-approval from the Powertrain Call Center (800-973-9992 Option 2) for any vehicles requiring CVT assemblies to be replaced. Valve bodies and CVT belt and pulley kits do not require pre-authorization. 3. If the vehicle is no longer covered by a powertrain or parts warranty, provide owners a repair estimate for test drive, diagnosis, and repair after consulting the goodwill guidelines available in the Assurance Product Resources Manual (APRM) or WBP/18-006.

White Paint Class Action Owner Notification Dealer Notification In October, owners of white Nissan Rogues produced between January 11, 2013 and April 23, 2013, will receive a notice from a settlement administrator informing them of the terms of a proposed class action settlement. The settlement, if approved by the presiding court, could extend the warranty on the paint for four years and provide a one-time full vehicle repaint (subject to a copay). Eligible owners can also obtain coverage for any reasonable and necessary rental car coverage arising from the repaint, or reimbursement of amounts previously incurred for a one-time repaint and any reasonable and necessary rental car services arising from the repaint. The settlement also provides for eligibility in Nissanâs Vehicle Purchase Program. To be clear, unless and until the proposed settlement is approved by the presiding court, there is no warranty extension or other remedy and you should proceed with paint-related claims in the ordinary course. The proposed settlement, and the associated potential warranty extension, include many terms and conditions. Rather than attempting to address questions about the proposed settlement terms from customers, Nissan recommends dealers refer customers to the website listed below. This will enable owners to receive information from appropriate sources and avoid providing incorrect and/or incomplete information to customers. The website is currently live and available to inquiring customers. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. No action is necessary at this time. Nissan will provide additional instructions once the proposed settlement is approved by the court. 2.
