Some 2015-2017 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the Body Control Module (BCM) is internally faulted and requires replacement. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.

Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles may exhibit a front wheel bearing type noise or DTCs C0031 and/or C0034 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. If the vehicle exhibits a wheel bearing noise and/or DTCs C0031 and/or C0034, remove the front wheel speed sensor (WSS). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09. Using a shop rag, clean any debris from the sensor body as well as the back side of the bearing. If the noise is gone, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and fill out the form. Monitor OASIS for updates. If the noise or DTCs C0031 and/or C0034 is still present, continue with normal diagnostics. To assist with investigation use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and fill out the form. Monitor OASIS for updates.

Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles may exhibit a power steering fluid leak at the steering pump or gear. This may be due to a cut or damaged O-ring on the power steering line connection. Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles may exhibit front seat safety belts that do not extend or retract properly or may exhibit an abnormal noise. Verify if the vehicle has been modified, in particular if a bulkhead partition between the front seats and cargo area has been added to the vehicle. Fasteners or holes in the lower b-pillar are indicators that the seat belt retractor mechanism could have been compromised. If diagnostics lead to retractor replacement, inspect for drill or screw holes in the retractor housing. Damage to the seat belt retractor caused by a vehicle modifier is not warrantable.

Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines, 2015-2019 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines and 2018-2019 F-150 with 3.0L diesel engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition.

For 2010-2019 vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines, when diagnosing and/or replacing turbo related concerns, all steps within the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure must be followed including replacement of all mandatory discarded parts. For all turbocharged engine applications, the turbocharger oil supply filter (6C683 gas engine/6L625 connector style or 6A968 diesel engine) must be replaced whenever the turbocharger or the turbocharger oil supply tube are replaced. Turbocharger bearing failure may occur if oil starvation occurs due to a restricted filter.

Some 2011-2019 F-Super Duty, 2015-2019 Transit, 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 and 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L, 3.2L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P207F, P20EE, P229F, P2201 and/or P24AE. This may be a result of using aftermarket cleaning liquids or tools for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or intake. Ford does not recommend the cleaning of diesel intakes or EGR coolers using any aftermarket tool that injects a cleaning foam or liquid substance into the EGR cooler or intake. Using these types of fluids can result in sodium poisoning of the NOx and particulate matter (PM) sensors resulting in degraded operation and permanent damage to the aftertreatment system. Use of these cleaning tools may void the emissions warranty of the hot end aftertreatment exhaust system and the attached emissions sensors.

Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles may have unique accessory drive noise characteristics. Engineering review of warranty returned belt tensioners has not identified an out of specification part, nor have abnormal sounds been recreated during on-vehicle evaluations with warranty returned tensioners. Before attempting a repair for an accessory drive system noise, compare the sound to a like Transit vehicle in similar RPM and temperature conditions. If the sound is not characteristic, use chassis ears to help isolate the source of the noise. If tensioner replacement is deemed necessary, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the vehicle's OASIS screen and submit a detailed Global Concern Report highlighting the specific conditions when the noise was observed.

Some 2015-2018 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.2L diesel engine may exhibit "Drive To Clean" maintenance messages and/or an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on with DTC P2459, P2463, and/or P246C. Vehicles may also exhibit frequent automatic exhaust regeneration attempts. This may be due to vehicles being used in a stationary or off-highway, low speed applications. If automatic regeneration attempts are unsuccessful, these symptoms may be a result of soot accumulation in the diesel particulate filter (DPF). These vehicles may benefit from operator commanded regeneration (OCR) capability so complete regeneration cycles may be performed in a stationary setting. This noise may be caused by a cracked piston skirt. The noise can be isolated to a cylinder using a stethoscope or other suitable listening device. Canceling the affected cylinder will reduce or eliminate the noise. If the noise is isolated to a specific cylinder, it is recommended to replace the short block. If the noise cannot be isolated using the methods described, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM) for diagnosis. 2017-2018 F-Super Duty/F-650/F-750/E-Series/Transit chassis cab and stripped chassis vehicles have their front alignment set as part of final assembly. The addition of aftermarket equipment such as utility and box bodies will change the ride height and therefore the alignment angles. Front-end alignments performed before the addition of aftermarket equipment may not be accurate. It is the responsibility of the final-stage manufacturer to check and set alignment angles and set clear vision (steering wheel orientation) after the addition of the aftermarket equipment. Prior to performing Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test RJ, confirm DEF concentration using IDS to monitor REDUCT_CONC_MES. This PID reading may fluctuate between 31% and 34% indicating DEF concentration is correct. A concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. This reading may also be checked using Central Tools Refractometer (CEN3R201) which should indicate a similar percentage as the PID. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts.
