Service Update - In some vehicles, equipped with diesel engines, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system may not immediately reactivate, as it should, after the vehicle?s control system finds that a DEF heater fault is no longer present. In these vehicles, after such a fault is detected as absent, DEF system reactivation, including DEF injection, may not occur until the ignition key is cycled. Dealers are to reprogram the reductant control module.

During inspection Technician may notice DTC P1682 (Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2) active or stored in history. DTC?s P0101, P0689. P16A7 or P16BC may also be active or stored in history. Additionally, vehicle may have been into the dealer on a prior service visit and had the MAF sensor replaced for DTC P0101. This condition may be caused by a faulty ignition relay or underhood fuse block terminal concern.

Customer Satisfaction Program - Certain 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD vehicles were intended to include a high idle feature, (RPO UF3). Equipment not included on the vehicle is required for the ?high idle? feature to function properly. Because the vehicle does not have the required equipment, this feature cannot be activated and will not be available for use. Dealers will issue the customer a reimbursement check.

In service, if a single leaf spring were to be replaced, a 2500 series spring could be installed which would cause the vehicle to have mismatching springs. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to diagnose and repair vehicle that may have a "Check Trailer Wiring" or "Service Trailer Brake System? message on the Driver Information Center when a trailer is connected to the vehicle. Diagnostic Trouble Code C1114 set in the Chassis Control Module. Chassis Control Module has to determine the type of trailer brake system that is being used. The Chassis Control Module can be sensitive to a variety of trailer wiring issues. The technician will need to make a trailer tester using Electric Trailer Brake Magnets and 7-way trailer connector to determine if it is a vehicle or trailer issue. If the concern is not duplicated with the tester installed, the vehicle is operating correctly and the focus should be on the trailer wiring or 7 way connector.
