Technician may find following fuses F23DL F22DL F30DL F31DL F32DL with the ignition key in the off position to have voltage. Technician should not replace the Transfer Case Control Module. Technician will need to install a diode, part number 12112422, across the coil of the solenoid. It is important that the striped end of the diode be connected to the positive terminal of the coil and the other end of the diode be connected to ground.

18236 - Special Coverage - On some vehicles, equipped with the LML (DURAMAX 6.6L V8 TURBO Diesel) engine, the exhaust turbocharger outlet pipe may have a bad weld. Smoke may be noticed from under the hood at a stop or while driving. The customer may also smell exhaust gas. Dealers are to replace the exhaust turbocharger outlet pipe. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

If the fluid level has been properly checked using the HOT check procedure listed in Service Information document 2408059 and any of the Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset during a cold start inspect the internal suction filter for possible cracks. If no other concerns are found inspect for a stuck lube regulator valve in the pump cover due to debris.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician the steps to diagnose and repair the concern of the display is showing 32° F (0° C) after a battery or reprogramming a module. The outside temperature will begin to update if driven above 20 mph for at least 5 minutes. If the vehicle speed drops below 20 mph, the timer will reset and the display will stop updating. Once the display starts to update it may take several more minutes of driving above 20 mph for the display to fully update. Also if the vehicle is shut off for more than 8 hours the display will update when the ignition is turned on.

18127 - Special Coverage. In certain vehicles, if a driver repeatedly sits on the seat belt cable cover located at the base of the driver?s seat when entering the vehicle, it may cause the seat belt pretensioner to bend sharply over the seat side shield. If this continues to occur over an extended period of time, which is very rare, the seat belt pretensioner cable may fatigue and eventually separate, which could reduce the effectiveness of the vehicle?s seat belts. Before any damage occurs to the pretensioner cable itself, signs of wear will be visible on the pretensioner cable cover where it has been repeatedly bent over the seat side shield. Dealers are to replace the pretensioner and side shield for all customers that experience a broken pretensioner cable or come to a dealership with excessive wear on the cable sleeve. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

If any weight parameter is exceeded such as the Front Gross Axle Weight Rating, Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating, Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, or Gross Combined Weight Rating the load must be reduced before investigating further. If evaluation of the trailer’s brakes indicates trailer brake capability is adequate, adjust brake controller per the Trailer Gain Adjustment Procedure described in the Driving and Operating section of the Owner’s Manual and evaluate truck and trailer combination for braking shudder.

Under certain driving conditions, fuel may not be transferred from the rear fuel tank to the front fuel tank at a sufficient rate. If this occurs, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2636 will set, the malfunction indicator lamp will illuminate, the fuel gauge will display empty, and the transfer pump will be disabled until serviced. If the vehicle continues to be driven, it will run out of fuel in the front tank and stall. Dealers are to replace fuel line connections to allow the rear tank, in addition to the front tank, to directly supply fuel to the engine. The engine control module (ECM) will also be reprogrammed with calibrations necessary to support this new connection.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a diagnostic trouble code U0159 set in the instrument panel cluster and /or the body control module. For vehicles equipped with Ultrasonic Park Assist System Regular Production Option Code UD5 or UD7 technician will use Service Programming System to reprogram the Parking Assist Control Module to correct this concern. Technician will need to inspect the front park assist sensors scallops/reliefs molded into the ring if previously replaced. Technician will need to replace the sensor rings with part number 84075328.

The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This concern may also be present while crusing at highway speeds and then an aggressive increase in throttle.This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to downshift.
