The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Diagnostic Trouble Code P0300. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0011 and or P0014 set in the Engine Control Module. Technician will need to remove the camshaft solenoids and inspect the screens for debris. Technician will need to clean off the screens with brake cleaner if debris is present. If code resets or the screen did not have debris on them, remove the camshaft actuator associated with the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and with light air pressure, blow out the oil passages through the camshaft actuator solenoid port. Lubricate the camshaft solenoid seal(s) with clean engine oil and reinstall and install a new camshaft actuator associated with the Diagnostic Trouble Code.
