This Preliminary information communicates that a customer may come to the dealer with a complaint of a hum, drone or pulsing type noise at times. On investigation the dealer may discover that this concern only occurs when the customer is driving with one or both rear windows down or one front window down. The dealer is instructed to advise the customer that if this is occuring with rear windows down to open a front window or the sunroof (if equipped) or if it is occurring with a front window down to open the other front window or the sunroof (if equipped) to alleviate this concern.

If the technician determines that one of the modules is not communicating on low speed the tech is instructed of areas to inspect the low speed communication line, 5060 for possible opens and repair them per SI.

Starting with 2016 model year Lane Keep Assist Regular Production Option Code (UHX) replaced Lane Departure Warning Regular Production Option Code (UFL). Lane Keep Assist is designed to assist the driver in keeping the vehicle from drifting out of a driving lane that has clearly identified markings. The electric power steering provides a gentle steering correction if a lane marking has been crossed and the driver has not actively responded.

Upon inspection the technician may find various communication codes. The technician is directed to remove the center console left side extension panel and inspect for a wire harness that is pinched behind a metal brace. If a pinched harness is found the technician is instructed to repair the wiring following SI wire repair procedures and ensure that the harness does not contact the brace upon reassembly.

If this condition is found the technician is instructed to check the Long Range Radar Module (LRRM) bracket for being loose. Tech is instructed to attempt to move the LRRM by hand and if movement is felt he is instructed to adjust the LRRM mounting bracket, properly tighten the bolts and perform a LRRM learn procedure.
