This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a fluid leak from the rear of the vehicle. Technician will need to inspect the rear axle to determine if the leak is coming from the rear axle differential vent. If the leak is not coming from the rear axle differential vent follow published Rear Axle Lubricant Leak Diagnosis in Service Information. If the leak is coming from the rear axle differential vent replace the vent and hose. If the vehicle comes back with the same concern it is possible that the rear axle vent baffle has moved.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

Technician should be advised that Traffic and Weather data from local reporting stations and then send the updated info process may take up to 24 minutes. Technician should test for full operation of the XM band if the system has not started receiving the Traffic and weather update within 30 minutes. Also ensure the customer has not shut XM NavTraffic off in the user settings of the navigation radio.
