Technical Bulletin (Front Seat Creaking Noise): Creaking noise can be heard from front seat while driving over bumps, driving aggressively, or while getting out of the vehicle. On the outboard side of the front seats there is a link tab that is contacting the seat frame. The gap between this tab and the seat frame should be a minimum of 1mm which was not taking place. The production solution for this issue was that the Supplier has corrected the production process to create the proper gap between the link tab and the seat frame. Some Golf, GTI, Jetta, and Passat vehicles equipped with electromechanical power steering have the G85 steering angle sensor located in the steering rack. These vehicles do not have a G85 in the steering column. To determine G85 location, check the J500 Power steering control module part number in the GFF printout. Do not use the part number on the steering rack for this check.
