Toyota is providing coverage for repairs related to vehicle frame corrosion perforation. A separate program will be announced in the future and will include CRC (Corrosion Resistant Compound) application. Toyota is currently preparing parts and approvals for the CRC application process. CRC application will be covered under a separate Limited Service Campaign (LSC K0D) for a period of two years and will only be available for vehicles registered/regularly operated in the Cold Climate States that do not meet vehicle frame replacement criteria. This Limited Service Campaign has not yet launched at the time of this publication. Toyota expects to launch K0D in phases beginning in the Fall of 2019. In the event that a Toyota vehicle becomes submerged in water, many components may be physically damaged. Electrical and electronic components, including wiring harnesses, are particularly susceptible to corrosion and subsequent malfunction. Although any flooding can be damaging, salt water flooding elevates the potential for abnormal conditions and may increase risks due to its highly corrosive and conductive nature. Salt residue also continues to corrode and remain conductive even after a vehicle dries. This bulletin is intended to assist with safe handling and inspection of flood damaged vehicles and to provide basic guidance on likely needed repairs.

TSB: REVISION NOTICE August 23, 2016 Rev1: Applicability has been updated to include 2015 model year Prius and Prius PHV vehicles. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Toyota models equipped with the Display Audio Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB drive to update the map, points of interest, Gracenote®, and system software. The SST is used with all vehicles to deliver the update, however a unique Activation Number is required for each vehicle. Activation Numbers are provided in an Activation Card Number (ACN) pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system. Use the process described in this bulletin to perform the update.

TSB: On some vehicles, when Rapgard? is removed, the paint may have a stained appearance. These stains appear to be under the clear coat (repainting this area is not necessary). The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard?. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture.
