TSB: Some 2018 ? 2022 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System, require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update, however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the expiration date of the dynamic subscription (stored in the head unit), must be checked. If the expiration date has not passed, a license key may be generated without the purchase of an activation card number (ACN). Updating the map without the use of an ACN is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 10) and performing this update does not extend the subscription to dynamic map services. If the subscription period has expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an ACN. Utilizing an ACN, will initiate the Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 4). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the embedded navigation update and provide dynamic map services for a period of two years from the date that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. ACNs are provided in a pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system

TT: After jump-starting, the vehicle may experience a no-start condition and multiple DTCs including U010087. Upon investigation, it is found that the engine ECU has been damaged and needs to be replaced (Fig 1). In several cases, it was found that the cause of the ECU damage was improper jump starting. Further investigation found that ECU damage may occur if the jumper cables are hooked up on or around the engine ECU or ECU mounting bracket

TSB: Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) is a critical step in satisfying our new car customers. Customer feedback indicates the following areas deserve special attention when performing PDS: ?Careful inspection for paint chips/scratches and body dents/dings. ?Proper operation of electrical accessories (including interior light, clock, and radio reset). ?Interior cleanliness. ?Proper function of mechanical systems. Customer retention and proper maintenance of vehicles are and have always been a major focus for Toyota. To help remind customers that regular service is essential to the proper maintenance of the vehicle, dealers are required to install a service reminder sticker before delivery. By doing this, customers will be reminded to return to your dealership for service. Your current service reminder sticker may be used. (See PDS Check Sheet item 8 of ?Final Inspection and Cleaning.?) This bulletin contains the PDS procedures that apply specifically to 2022 model year RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime vehicles. A universal PDS Check Sheet that contains PDS steps that apply to all 2022 model year Toyota vehicles has been developed. To properly perform a complete PDS, you must complete all procedures contained in this TSB as well as the universal PDS Check Sheet. In addition, if the vehicle is stored for over 30 days, be sure to follow Long-Term Vehicle Storage Guidelines.

TT: The all new RAV4 Prime launched in mid-June 2020. An all new high voltage battery was introduced with this model and will require several new SSTs for diagnosis and repair. Some of these tools will be made available via the Toyota Loan Tool Program, while others will be distributed as Essential. These tools will have limited availability at launch and as a result, an Interim Strategy has been developed to make them available to dealers. This Interim Strategy is listed below in the ?Recommendations? section. Estimated timing for the essential tools to be distributed and the loan tools to be permanently available to dealers is September 2020*. An additional communication will be sent to announce when these tools become available. *The GRX-5100 cable is estimated to be available in Q4 2020

(See PDS Check Sheet item 8 of ?Final Inspection and Cleaning.?) This bulletin contains the PDS procedures which apply specifically to 2021 model year RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, and RAV4 Prime vehicles. A universal PDS Check Sheet which contains PDS steps that apply to all 2021 model year Toyota vehicles has been developed. To properly perform a complete PDS, you must complete all procedures contained in this TSB as well as the universal PDS Check Sheet. In addition, if the vehicle is stored for over 30 days, be sure to follow Long-Term Vehicle Storage Guidelines.

TSB: A battery in a stored vehicle is subject to conditions that can reduce its performance and service life. These conditions include storage period, temperature, parasitic drain, and battery load. Because of these factors, battery inspection and maintenance are required in order to ensure proper operation and optimal battery life. As a matter of policy, Toyota does not provide battery warranty coverage for discharged and/or failed batteries due to lack of maintenance. It is the dealer?s responsibility to maintain the specified State-Of-Charge (SOC) of the vehicle?s battery while in stock and ensure proper SOC at delivery. To eliminate customer service concerns due to an undercharged battery during the first few weeks of ownership, ALL dealers should check battery SOC and recharge, if necessary, no more than 48 hours before delivery to the customer.
