This Service Information bulletin announces a procedure change for installation of the under-body grommets used to seal the tie-down holes used during vehicle transport. Previously, the grommetswere supplied with the vehicle and placed in the glove box to be installed as part of the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) procedure. This bulletin announces reprogramming file availability to optimize the ECM. These new files involve the ECM?s diagnosis of DTC P0045: TURBOCHARGER / SUPERCHARGER BOOST CONTROL ?A? CIRCUIT OPEN and DTC P2196: A/F O2 SENSOR SIGNAL BIASED / STUCK RICH BANK 1 SENSOR 1. For P0045, in some cases, an engine RPM drop may occur when selecting D or R range too quickly following ignition on and before the engine reaches full operation during the ECM?s initial control of the waste gate valve. Should this occur P0045 may set the next time the engine is started. For P2196, if the driver "snaps" the throttle open and shut rapidly, normal judgement of the A/F sensor data may be inaccurate and cause the code to be detected in error.

Various paint manufacturers designate their own stock numbers and coding information although many of the major suppliers are now using the SOA paint codes to help eliminate possible confusion. Their color formulations are updated on a continual basis. Some vendors may have different color names than those provided to them by SOA. Be sure to double-check the codes and formulas beforehand to help insure an accurate color match. Should discrepancies arise, please refer your Body Shop contact inquiries to the specific paint vendor or their jobber / supplier for the most updated formula information.
