TELEMATICS SERVICE INFORMATION HINT: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 4G network compatible TCU. TCUs compatible with 3G network only are no longer supported. SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). With an active NissanConnect® Services subscription, the TCU communicates with the NissanConnect® Services Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. This bulletin contains important service procedures that must be performed properly in order to set-up and maintain the telematics system for the APPLIED VEHICLES. · A table has been provided on the next page that lists the steps required to successfully configure a TCU after it has been replaced. · A CHECK-OFF SHEET has been provided on page 20 to print and check off steps as they are performed. Staple the completed CHECK-OFF SHEET to the repair order.

FLUID LEAK FROM THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CASE ACTUATOR MOTOR PLASTIC THREADS SERVICE INFORMATION Figure 1 Figure 2 If the front differential has a fluid leak coming from the actuator motor plastic threads (Figure 1): a. Place an alignment mark on the splined actuator body and the gear carrier (Figure 2). b. Remove the actuator and thoroughly clean the threads, making sure not to allow RTV to fall into the differential case. c. Once clean, apply Three Bond sealant to the threads, and then reinstall the actuator motor, making sure to line up the alignment marks. d. Check the front differential gear oil level and top to specification. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > FRONT FINAL DRIVE: MA235/MA210 > PERIODIC MAINTENANCE > FRONT DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL DO NOT replace the front differential due to a fluid leak from the actuator motor plastic threads unless there has been consequential damage due to fluid loss (bearing failure or gear noise) to the front differential.

DIAGNOSING REAR FINAL DRIVE ASSEMBLY LEAKS SERVICE INFORMATION If a Rear Final Drive Assembly (rear solid axle) is found to be leaking from one, or more, of the locations listed below, the source(s) of the leak should first be identified and, if possible repaired before the Rear Final Drive Assembly is considered for replacement. A Rear Final Drive Assembly should not be replaced unless bearing, gear, or other significant damage has occurred. Possible points of fluid leaks: ï· Front Oil Seal (Pinion Seal) ï· Axle Tube Seal ï· ABS Rear Wheel Sensor ï· Rear Axle Wheel Bearing Seal ï· Gear Carrier Cover Gasket ï· Drain Plug IMPORTANT: If a Rear Final Drive Assembly is found to have been replaced for a repairable leak and no internal damage is present, the claim will be charged back. 12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: ï· CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 ï· CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ ï· DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ ï· DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. Use the vehicle tables in this bulletin to determine the current software version, if the AV Control Unit requires a software version update, and which procedure to use to update the AV Control Unit. The software updates in this bulletin are to address stability improvements and âbugâ fixes. IMPORTANT: If the customer is experiencing a software related concern, refer to NTB21-038 to verify if the customer concern is a hardware or software related issue. If the concern is a software related issue, review the information in this bulletin to update the AV Control Unit as needed.

DRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) availability. ï· If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the dealer. ï· If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to NTB21-013 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

NOISE AND/OR VIBRATION FROM FRONT OR REAR PROPELLER SHAFT SERVICE INFORMATION If you confirm abnormal noise and/or vibration is coming from the front or rear propeller shaft of an APPLIED VEHICLE, inspect the propeller shaft journals (U-Joints) for binding and/or abnormal noise before replacing the propeller shaft. If binding and/or abnormal noise is confirmed from the propeller shaft U-Joints, replace the propeller shaft U-Joints. Refer to the ESM for the propeller shaft U-Joint replacement procedure. NOTE: Replacement of the propeller shaft due to noise and/or vibration caused by the propeller shaft U-Joints may result in warranty charge back.

SERVICE INFORMATION FOR FUEL GAUGE INACCURATE WITH DTCS STORED IN ECM SERVICE INFORMATION If a fuel level sensor has been diagnosed as sending an incorrect level signal, and one or more of the following DTCs are stored in the ECM, do not replace the entire âFuel Level Sensor Unit, Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump Assemblyâ (fuel pump assembly). WATER INTRUSION INTO REAR COMBINATION LAMP CAN CAUSE MULTIPLE DTCS AND NO-START CONDITION SERVICE INFORMATION Water intrusion into one or both of the rear combination lamp assemblies can cause multiple DTCs, and possibly cause the vehicleâs engine to not start. Water intrusion into one or both rear combination lamp assemblies has been found to migrate through the harness, and can cause harness connector terminals in C1/E41 to corrode (Figure 1 on page 2). ï· Repair any damaged rear combination lamp assemblies immediately to avoid potential harness damage. Notice Harness connector terminals in C1/E41 found to be damaged through water intrusion due to a damaged rear combination lamp assembly is not warrantable.

2016-2020 TITAN/TITAN XD; TRANSFER CASE SEAL SERVICE PARTS SERVICE INFORMATION The front ouput seal, rear output seal and input seal are available as service parts (see page 2). If a transfer case is leaking from either the input or output seals, first check the fluid to confirm that it is not low, discolored, and/or has an abnormal smell. If the fluid condition indicates that the transfer case has been damaged, the transfer case should be replaced. If the fluid condition is ok, replace only the leaking seal. ï· Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for the appropriate seal replacement: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > TRANSFER: TX91A. NOTE: Over-repair of the transfer case by replacement may be grounds for warranty chargeback.

The new service part (B in Figure 1) is visually different, but is a direct replacement for the original equipment part. IMPORTANT: See page 2 for the procedure to inspect the cap bolt service part for excessive stretch. If replacement of a single connecting rod cap bolt is indicated for any given connecting rod, both connecting rod cap bolts of the affected connecting rod must be replaced as a set.
