NISSAN; DTC P0456 CAUSED BY EVAP LEAK AT VENT CONTROL VALVE O-RING IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON in an APPLIED VEHICLE with DTC P0456 (EVAP VERY SML LEAK) AND - DTC P0456 is not caused by a loose fuel fill cap (refer to NTB13-097). - An EVAP leak has been detected where the vent control valve mounts to the canister. - The vent control valve O-ring seal is determined to be the cause. ACTION 1. DO NOT REPLACE the vent control valve. 2. Replace the vent control valve O-ring seal (O-ring). - Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE on page 2.

Due to a manufacturing issue that has since been corrected, the welds between the mating materials on the side rails of the Titan truck bed may not meet Nissan design specifications. In extreme conditions, deformation to the bed could occur. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm I.D. PC577 - New vehicles in dealer inventory can be also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). o Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information 2. Dealers are requested to repair any affected vehicles in dealer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure customer satisfaction. 3. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PC577 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY Dealers are to repair vehicles falling within range of this campaign that enter the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties, vehicles presented by transient (tourists) owners, and vehicles in a dealer?s inventory.

IF YOU CONFIRM Any of the following issues: - When cold (transmission fluid below 140°F [60°C]), there is an engine RPM rise (200 to 500 RPM flare) during the 1-2 shift, 2-3 shift, and/or the 3-4 shift. - While slowing to a stop, a 2-1 down shift bump is felt just before stopping. - Harsh up-shifts. - Shift shock when lifting your foot from the accelerator. - Gear hunting while driving in city traffic. ACTION 1. Compare the vehicle?s current TCM part number to the part number listed in Table A on page 7. - If the current TCM part number matches a part number listed in Table A, follow the instructions in Table A. 2. Save computer data with CONSULT-III plus (C-III plus). 3. Compare the vehicle?s current ECM part number to the part number listed in Table B on page 30. - If the current ECM part number matches a part number listed in Table B, reprogram the ECM. - Write saved data. 2016-2017 TITAN AND TITAN XD; NOISE FROM REAR PARKING BRAKES IF YOU CONFIRM The rear parking brake shoes are dragging against the drum surface of the brake rotor and causing noise. ACTION Replace the rear parking brake shoes and retainer springs on both sides of the vehicle. - If the parking brake shoes have worn through their lining and scored either the left side or right side drum surface of the brake rotor, or if any other related damage is present, replace the brake rotor on the affected side and replace the disk brake pads.

SERVICE INFORMATION Some customers may want to use a coolant heater (engine block heater) for their vehicle when ambient temperatures are below 32°F (0°C). 2016 Titan XD: - Some were not equipped from the factory with a coolant heater or cord. - Some were equipped with coolant heater, but not a cord. 2017 Titan XD: Was equipped from the factory with a coolant heater, but some were not equipped with the coolant heater cord. 2016-2017 TITAN XD; DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) AND DIESEL FUEL CONTAMINATION PRECAUTION SERVICE INFORMATION CAUTION: Contamination of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system with fluids other than DEF can cause permanent damage to the components of the DEF system. CAUTION: Putting DEF or gasoline into the diesel fuel system will contaminate the entire system and can cause permanent damage to the components of the diesel fuel system. IMPORTANT: Damage to either of these systems due to contamination is not covered by the Nissan New Vehicle Warranty and will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Vehicle owners must be extremely careful to put the appropriate fluid/fuel into the appropriate tank.

PLASTIC INTERIOR TRIM PROTECTIVE COVERING REMOVAL SERVICE INFORMATION Vehicles are delivered with plastic interior trim protective covering on the front and rear seats, front and rear door panel finishers, steering wheel, and sun visors (see examples on page 2). When removing the protective covering, care must be used to avoid scuffs, scrapes, cuts, and other abrasive contact to interior trim components. DO NOT use sharp objects like razor blades, box cutters, knives, etc. when removing the plastic interior trim protective covering. IMPORTANT All soft trim described in this bulletin is on automatic return to NNA. Any trim found damaged in the way described in this bulletin will be charged back to the dealer.
