12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect “Test with DCA” and “Replace” results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT:  CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000  CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/  DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/  DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. The DCA-8000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandca8000.midtronics.com/

This SKU is a Suspension Ball Joint. The customer communication requested return of unsold inventory to inspect for the outer diameter of the ball joint housing being too small. The outer diameter being too small would prevent the part from being installed, and would therefore have no impact on the end user besides time to complete installation.

NISSAN; VIBRATION AND/OR NOISE WHEN MAKING LOW SPEED TURNS IF YOU CONFIRM There is a vibration or judder feeling from the rear of the vehicle during the following conditions:  When making turns  On dry roads  At low speeds (under 40 MPH) And  The above vibration does not occur if the Electric Controlled Coupling is electrically disconnected. NOTE: In some cases, electrically disconnecting the Electric Controlled Coupling may not eliminate the vibration as described above. In these cases, further confirm the incident by removing the rear propeller shaft and retest. If the vibration does not occur with the rear propeller shaft removed, the incident is confirmed. IMPORTANT: Tire size, brand or tread pattern mismatches can cause similar symptoms. To avoid tire related mismatch vibration, it is recommended that when tires need to be replaced, all tires are replaced at the same time with tires of the proper size, same brand and pattern. See ACTION on page 2.

White Paint Delamination Warranty Extension Dealer Notification On October 17, 2019, Nissan distributed a dealer announcement notifying dealers of a proposed class action settlement (Nelson v. Nissan North America, Inc., Case No. 3:17-cv-01114 (M.D. Tenn.)), concerning paint peeling on Nissan Rogue vehicles. The announcement provided a copy of notices sent to affected owners. A court hearing occurred on December 19, 2019 and the proposed settlement was approved by the presiding court for owners of pearl white Nissan Rogues produced between January 11, 2013 and April 23, 2013. Owners of eligible vehicles will receive a notification of the settlement from the third party settlement administrator indicating their eligibility for the following:  - Warranty extension of 48 months and unlimited miles to their current 36 month/36,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty for a total of 84 months/unlimited mile warranty coverage for the pearl white paint for delamination  - The paint warranty extension will allow for a one-time full vehicle repaint (subject to a customer copayment)  - Eligible owners can also obtain coverage for rental car ($400 max) arising from the repaint  - Eligibility for Nissan’s Vehicle Purchase Program (A-Plan) until April 30, 2020. Settlement details for this warranty extension can be found at the following website: www.vehiclepaintsettlement.com

NHTSA source summary · Original PDF not reviewed by Recallfolio

White Paint Class Action Owner Notification Dealer Notification In October, owners of white Nissan Rogues produced between January 11, 2013 and April 23, 2013, will receive a notice from a settlement administrator informing them of the terms of a proposed class action settlement. The settlement, if approved by the presiding court, could extend the warranty on the paint for four years and provide a one-time full vehicle repaint (subject to a copay). Eligible owners can also obtain coverage for any reasonable and necessary rental car coverage arising from the repaint, or reimbursement of amounts previously incurred for a one-time repaint and any reasonable and necessary rental car services arising from the repaint. The settlement also provides for eligibility in Nissan’s Vehicle Purchase Program. To be clear, unless and until the proposed settlement is approved by the presiding court, there is no warranty extension or other remedy and you should proceed with paint-related claims in the ordinary course. The proposed settlement, and the associated potential warranty extension, include many terms and conditions. Rather than attempting to address questions about the proposed settlement terms from customers, Nissan recommends dealers refer customers to the website listed below. This will enable owners to receive information from appropriate sources and avoid providing incorrect and/or incomplete information to customers. The website is currently live and available to inquiring customers. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. No action is necessary at this time. Nissan will provide additional instructions once the proposed settlement is approved by the court. 2. If a customer contacts the dealer with a white paint concern and/or references this settlement notification, dealers should refer the customer to the third party administrator’s website for additional information. www.vehiclepaintsettlement.com

SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90° (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown will prevent tire Flat Spotting. SERVICE INFORMATION Occasionally customers may notice water vapor or fog in the headlamps. The information, illustrations, and flow chart in this bulletin are provided to help you in determining if an incident for water/condensation in the headlamps is normal or not. Nissan?s new vehicle limited warranty does not cover physically damaged (cracked or broken) headlamps. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment. See this bulletin for further detail.

SERVICE INFORMATION Starting with 2010 Model Year, Nissan vehicles have been gradually incorporating a new type of DTC known as Permanent DTC or P-DTC. If a vehicle is equipped with P-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. A listing of which DTCs that will also set a P-DTC is found in the DTC Index in the EC-Engine Control section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). If a DTC repair is performed and the DTC erased, a vehicle may fail an Emission Inspection and Maintenance test if the P-DTC is not also erased. See this bulletin for further detail.
