SERVICE INFORMATION NOTE - Failure to follow the procedures in this bulletin may result in the denial of a warranty claim. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Nissan vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. The PGF protects the paint finish during vehicle handling, transportation and storage from harmful elements such as acid rain, iron particles, bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental contaminants. NOTE - Paint Guard Film CANNOT remain on the vehicle for more than six months after the vehicle's manufacture date. PGF must be removed at the end of six months. SERVICE INFORMATION The LEAF S Model Charging Timer and logic are different from the SV or SL models. The Charging Timer: * Is accessed in the lower meter info display (non-Navigation version only) * See Owner?s Manual under Charging / Charging timer / Without navigation system for further details. * Allows only the time that the charging is to STOP to be set and does not allow the charge START time to be set. NOTE: This can be confusing if compared to the SV or SL models that include programmable start and stop times. The S-Model will calculate the amount of time needed to charge the High Voltage (HV) battery and then determine when to automatically START charging based on: * What time the STOP charge is set for * The HV battery?s current State Of Charge * The percentage of battery capacity that it will be charged to of either 80% for Long Life mode or 100% for Long Distance mode * The current EVSE voltage being used to charge the vehicle (110vac or 220vac) Please see this bulletin for further details.

Nissan Original Equipment or Genuine Accessory Alloy wheels, along with their finish coating (clear, chrome, titanium, etc.), are specifically developed to achieve Nissan design and performance standards. These Original Equipment or Genuine Accessory wheels are subjected to testing to ensure they meet Nissan's standards. Nissan Original Equipment Alloy or Genuine Accessory wheels subjected to aftermarket chroming may no longer continue to meet these standards and may be seriously damaged. Therefore, Nissan most strongly discourages, and recommends that these wheels NEVER be subjected to, aftermarket chroming. See this bulletinfor further detail.

SERVICE INFORMATION The DC Fast Charger requires periodic air filter maintenance. If the air filters are not serviced and become restricted, the DC Fast Charger will set DTC 0x051E Thermostat Error (Charger malfunction) and suspend operation until the restriction is cleared and the power to the DC Fast Charger is cycled. The air filters should all be inspected 30 days after the unit is first put into service, to determine the levels of individual restriction. - Any air filters found to be heavily restricted during the initial 30 day inspection should be serviced at a monthly or bi-monthly interval. - If none of the air filters are heavily restricted, they should be serviced and then rechecked at 90 day intervals (some air filters may require less maintenance than others). The Internal air filter may only need annual replacement unless the site is extremely dusty. It is the only air filter that requires the removal of the external charger casing. This should only be performed by a licensed electrician. See this bulletin for further detail.
