12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect “Test with DCA” and “Replace” results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT:  CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000  CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/  DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/  DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. The DCA-8000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandca8000.midtronics.com/

Expiration Notification – Drive Belt Tensioner Bolts ***** Campaign Summary***** In 2008, Nissan launched a Voluntary Service Campaign on certain 2008 Altima (L32) vehicles, equipped with 4-cylinder 2.5L engine, to re-torque the engine accessory drive belt tensioner bolts to specification. During manufacturing, the engine accessory drive belt tensioner bolts may not have been torqued to specification. This may affect performance of certain engine accessories on the vehicle, including the air conditioning compressor, alternator and the water pump. Parts specified for this campaign are no longer available through Nissan. This customer service campaign and customer reimbursement for these repairs are no longer available. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Service Comm will deactivate PB072 on any unrepaired VINs on March 25, 2021. No further dealer action is required.

see NTB13-056 INTRODUCTION Nissan has determined that on some 2007 ? 2008 Altima Sedans and 2008 Altima Coupes equipped with the 2.5 liter four cylinder engines, a rattle noise may occur around the exhaust manifold heat shield during start up or at low engine speeds (approximately 1600 RPM). The symptom does not affect the operation of the engine or the vehicle. To address this issue, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the lower exhaust manifold heat shield. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PB053 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. See this bulletin for further detail.

Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign on Model Year 2007-2012 Nissan Altima (L32) Sedan and Coupe vehicles to inspect the brake systems in vehicles with an illuminated brake warning lamp. Nissan dealers will inspect the brake system and confirm that no brake fluid leak is present. If no leak is present, the reservoir will be topped off. If a leak in the brake master cylinder is identified, the brake master cylinder will be replaced. The affected vehicles are equipped with a brake warning lamp that will illuminate to alert the driver when fluid in the brake fluid reservoir is low. Fluid in the reservoir may become low due to normal brake pad wear and not because of any brake system malfunction. While in most instances an illuminated brake warning lamp is due to normal brake pad wear, a small percentage of vehicles affected by this campaign may have a slow brake fluid leak at the brake master cylinder. See this bulletin for further detail. Campaign ID# PC125
