Front Brake Noise Symptom 1: Some vehicles may exhibit a click noise when first moving forward or reverse from a stop OR when first applying the brakes while moving forward at slow speeds. This is caused by deteriorated grease between the brake pads and the shim, the front brake pads move upward/downward along with the brake rotors during brake application. When the vehicle moves or the brakes are applied the next time, the front brake pads move to the other side, which causes a click noise. Front Brake Noise Symptom 2: Some vehicles may exhibit the brakes having an unusual noise or vibration when applying the brake. This is caused by rust on the brake disk plateâÂÂs surface. Rear Brake Noise Symptom 1: Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak noise from the rear brakes while braking lightly and occurs more frequently when driving at slow speeds. The noise is caused by poor contact between the guide plate and the mounting support. To eliminate this concern, the material of the pads has been changed to copper-free and the specification of the shims has been changed to a coated spring with tape. Rear Brake Noise Symptom 2: Some vehicles equipped with an electric parking brake (EPB) may exhibit a grinding noise from the rear brakes when braking. This may be caused by the rear brake pads not having the capability to remove the rust from the rear brake discs. The red rust accumulated on the discs is exposed to high temperatures during braking, and consequently the rust turns black. As the black rust is too hard to be removed by the brake pads, the rust progress is accelerated, resulting in the grinding noise.

Some customers may notice an abnormal noise (i.e. whine, groan, rattle or squeak) coming from the front combination lights when turning them on, or a few minutes after turning them off. The noise may be due to contamination by foreign matter during the manufacturing process. The fan motor bearing may become worn out during use. To eliminate the noise, the production process at the supplier and the material has been modified. NOTE: It is normal for some noise to occur within the first few seconds after starting the engine, when the front combination lights perform a self check (sweep).

Some customers have reported experiencing a one-time popping or clunking sound while driving their vehicle. The noise is most noticeable when duplicating the driving conditions of going up or down an incline while simultaneously making a turn. NOTE: For Mazda6 vehicles, the noise may only be heard once per day. To reproduce the concern, allow the vehicle to sit overnight and then drive it. The noise has been traced to the front stabilizer (sway bar) bushings and the recommended action is the following repair information (if the noise can be duplicated). NOTE: The repair itself is not complex, but accurately replicating the concern may require additional time. To minimize inconvenience to the customer, ensure that they are provided with a loaner vehicle while the diagnosis and repair take place.

Interior parts made of resin have antistatic coating to prevent dust from sticking on the surfaces, and depending on the conditions of use, the antistatic components may crystallize slightly, giving an appearance of white stains on the surface. To remove the stains, wipe the stained surface with a towel soaked with water mixed with a small portion of a neutral detergent. If the white stains reappear again, simply wipe them again in the same way. NOTE: The antistatic effect does not deteriorate with this procedure.
