CLIENT SATISFACTION INITIATIVE 2G TELEMATICS HARDWARE REPLACEMENT This bulletin applies to vehcile equipped with navigation systems only. SERVICE INFORMATION On February 26, 2016 Infiniti announced that it was sending a reminder notification to clients affected by AT&T?s planned discontinuation of the 2G cellular network. In June 2016, Infiniti communicated instructions to retailers to update new vehicles in their inventory with 3G compatible telematics control units. At this time, Infiniti is beginning the process of making 3G compatible hardware available to owners of affected vehicles as identified above. This upgrade may require an owner to make a co-payment in order to receive the 3G hardware update. Please refer to the Claims Information below to determine if an owner co-pay is required. This client satisfaction initiative includes both the hardware upgrade and a complimentary one-year subscription to Infiniti Connection Plus telematics service; this does not apply to PC454 (see page 2 for details). You MUST use Service Comm to confirm bulletin Applicability. NOTE: - Vehicle eligibility will be viewed on the second page of Service Comm. This activity is not displayed on the main page of Service Comm because it is optional for customers to participate. - Vehicles without Navigation are ineligible as they are not equipped with TCUs. Retailer?s Responsibility It is the retailer?s responsibility to check SERVICE COMM using the appropriate Service Comm I.D. for the status on each vehicle falling within the range of this client satisfaction initiative which for any reason enters the service department. If a vehicle subject to this client satisfaction activity was part of a retailer trade, the letter associated with that vehicle should be forwarded to the appropriate retailer for upgrade completion.

SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90° (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown in this bulletin will prevent tire Flat Spotting. See this bulletin for further detail.

IF YOU CONFIRM: "Brake Judder" during braking, especially when braking at highway speeds. Symptoms of "brake judder": - steering wheel shake - body vibration - brake pedal pulsation IMPORTANT NOTES: If any symptom above occurs when cruising or coasting (not braking), it is not "Brake Judder" and may be tire/wheel related. DO NOT CONFUSE "Brake Judder" with the rapid consistent-speed pedal pulsation that may be felt and only occurs when ABS is activated during hard braking or on slippery road surfaces. ACTION: 1. Inspect the front brake rotors to determine if "machining" ("turning") is possible or if replacement is necessary. 2. Replace both pad pins in both front 4-piston calipers (see PARTS INFORMATION). 3. SERVICE INFORMATION Occasionally customers may notice water vapor or fog in the headlamps. The information, illustrations, and flow chart in this bulletin are provided to help you in determining if an incident for water/condensation in the headlamps is normal or not. Infiniti?s new vehicle limited warranty does not cover physically damaged (cracked or broken) headlamps. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment. See this bulletin for further detail.

SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing the front sonar parking sensor for potentially unwanted activation (e.g. sonar activates with no obstacle ahead), inspect the front license plate, front license plate frame and if equipped, the front license plate bracket. See page 2 for example photos. The front sonar parking sensor may activate if: The front license plate is bent outward from its bracket (there is a gap between the license plate and the bracket) OR the front license plate frame is bent or loose and is hanging outward, away from the license plate and/or bracket (there is a gap between the license plate frame and the license plate and/or bracket) OR the bracket is loose and is hanging outward, away from the bumper (there is a gap between the bracket and the bumper). If any of these conditions are found, correct it by removing the gap (straighten the license plate, straighten and/or secure the license plate frame, or secure the bracket, as it applies). - Retest the operation of the front sonar parking sensor. If the issue is not resolved, go to ASIST and the related Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnosis. See this bulletin for further detail.

SERVICE INFORMATION Design and process changes have been made to improve battery voltage at dealer receipt. Our goal is to deliver vehicles to customers with a 12 volt battery in excellent condition. Proper dealership storage and maintenance of vehicle 12 volt batteries is essential to insuring good battery operating life and customer satisfaction. Dealers are responsible for maintaining vehicles in their inventory. 12 volt batteries in vehicle inventory should always be kept at a full charge to prevent excessive discharge during storage and so they are ready for delivery to customers at any time. SERVICE INFORMATION For QX60 Hybrid Vehicles, go to page 4. Q50, Q70, and M35 Hybrid Vehicles The internal combustion (IC) engine in the Q50, Q70, and M35 Hybrid vehicles is started using a high voltage motor that is integrated into the transmission. The high voltage motor gets its power from the high voltage Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) battery that is mounted between the trunk room and the rear seat. The Li-ion battery cannot be recharged using an external battery charger; therefore it is very important that the battery state of charge (SOC) is properly maintained during extended storage periods. Action must to be taken in order to prevent excessive discharge of the high voltage Li-ion battery during an extended storage period. If the reserve capacity of the Li-ion battery is not sufficient, the hybrid system cannot be started. Perform the Battery Discharge Prevention During Extended Storage procedure in this bulletin once a month (every 30 days). NOTE: A discharged high voltage Li-ion battery is not a warrantable issue. See this bulletin for further detail.

Unnecessary repair or replacement of parts in connection with incorrectly diagnosed "leaks" can negatively impact customer satisfaction, be time consuming and costly, and if not performed correctly can lead to future repairs. SERVICE INFORMATION When replacing a BCM for any reason and the original BCM?s configuration cannot be accessed with CONSULT-III plus (C-III plus), the new BCM must be manually configured. Configuration settings are not "spelled out" in C-III plus. For example, under Intelligent Key Type the designation "0" is used in place of "without I-KEY". Currently, the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) does not have a definition chart. The ESM will be updated with this information. Updated ESMs will be distributed to the field as quickly as possible. Until the updated ESMs are made available, please use the chart on the next page to assist in performing a manual configuration on the applied vehicles listed above.
