Service NewsDue to On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) regulation change starting with 2019 vehicles, American Honda’s Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) On-Board Diagnostic monitors are now included in the EGR/VVT OBD Monitor Readiness status group. Due to some customer’s driving patterns, they may not drive in the fashion needed to operate the VTEC (EGR/VVT) that only operates above 5,350 rpm to run the OBD monitoring. Therefore, the EGR/VVT OBD monitor group readiness status is not set to “Complete” when the customer presents their vehicle to a Smog Check station for inspection.

Dealer Message - Today, February 18, 2021, American Honda is announcing a warranty extension for certain 2018-20 Odyssey, 2019-20 Passport, and 2019-20 Pilot vehicles. This warranty extension covers communication issues in the MOST bus network where the vehicle may have popping or crackling from the speakers, no sound from the audio system, a Network Loss message, or display issues. American Honda is extending the warranty for the MOST bus network connectors on these vehicles to 5 years or 60,000 miles from the original date of purchase, whichever comes first.

ServiceNews Article - We have received information from the vendor (Alpine) that display panels are being replaced for cracks on the center display screen. When they review these parts, they're finding that an aftermarket screen protector had been installed and that the screen protector is cracked. So, if you have a center display that appears to have a cracked screen, confirm that it does not have an aftermarket screen protector installed. If installed, remove it, and then check if the center display screen itself is cracked.
