Emission - General Motors has decided to conduct a voluntary emissions recall involving certain 2016-2019 model year diesel engine vehicles. The engine control module (ECM) in these vehicles may not adequately diagnose or illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (Check Engine Light) when frequent regeneration of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) occurs. Dealers are to program the engine control module (ECM) with corrected software.

Service Update - Certain vehicles may have a condition where the customer may be able to shift out of park with an expired latent fault mode counter. This will only occur after the customer ignores multiple driver information center (DIC) and chime warnings. By design, the vehicle should not allow the driver to shift out of park once the latent fault mode counter expires. Dealers are to reprogram the engine control module.

Certain vehicles, may have several wires going to the body control module (BCM) damaged due to the installation/removal of the aftermarket LoJack alarm system from the vehicle. N192271200 - Emission Recall. Certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5-liter, 4 cylinder engine (RPO LYX or LFV). Under certain conditions the engine intake charge air cooler outlet duct may become disconnected from the throttle body when turbo boost is active. If this condition occurs, a reduced engine power message will be displayed, the available engine power will be reduced, the engine may run rough, and the malfunction indicator lamp (check engine light) will illuminate. When the vehicle reaches low speed or idle, the engine could stall. If this condition occurs the engine control module will set one or more of these diagnostic trouble codes: P0172 (Fuel Trim System Rich), P0299 (Engine Underboost), P0101 (Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Performance), P1101 (Intake Air Flow System Performance), or P0506 (Idle Speed Low). Dealers are to install an improved charge air cooler retainer.
