Some 2019-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an intermittent audio echo/robotic voice heard during a bluetooth phone call by the person that is not in the vehicle. Using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto instead of Bluetooth can help alleviate the concern. Also turning on, then off, the privacy setting in the SYNC touchscreen can temporarily alleviate the concern. Engineering is currently investigating this concern and will be releasing a service fix in early July 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. Monitor OASIS for updates.

Some 2020-2021 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped from the factory with an exterior backup alarm may also experience an interior chime when the vehicle is placed into the reverse position. This chime may come through the vehicles audio system or through the instrument cluster. This may be due to incorrect as-built data in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). To correct the condition, using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool, run the IPC - Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Configuration application. For claiming, use causal part 10849 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may not be able to perform remote commands via the FordPass/LincolnWay App due to an erroneous deep sleep message. If the vehicle has been driven within 14 days and the battery state of charge is above 9.5 volts when the deep sleep message set, this is an erroneous message. Starting and running the vehicle will clear the message and allow the remote commands to function again. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that will be released via an over the air (OTA) update that is expected in June 2021. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM) will not resolve this condition. Some 2020-2021 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may experience a lack of power due to snow packing of the engine air cleaner when operating in extremely snowy conditions. A heavy snow environment pre-filter service kit (service part LC3Z-9K635-AA) is now available for use but is not a warrantable item. It is recommended that the service kit be removed at temperatures greater than 50F (10C) and reinstall in subsequent winter seasons in order to maintain optimal vehicle performance. The service kit instructions mention that air filter FA-2031 is required, however the heavy snow environment pre-filter service kit can be used with either engine air filter FA-1951, or FA-2031 once it is available.

Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition.

Some 2020-2021 F-Super Duty vehicles with 6.7L and 10R140 powertrain may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction indicator (wrench) lamp with only DTC P07F6 stored in the transmission control module (TCM). The vehicle may also exhibit harsh engagements, poor shift quality and/or loss of 9th gear as a result of the DTC being set. If no additional DTCs or symptoms are present, clear keep alive memory and transmission adaptive tables with the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool, and perform an adaptive learning drive cycle. Transmission replacement is not necessary. Inform customers that a further improved calibration will be available in early March 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle after performing this SSM, and schedule a service appointment for early March 2021. Monitor OASIS for updates.

2011-2021 F-Super Duty and 2016-2021 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit a high/elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this high/elevated idle to reduce buildup of unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR system. The powertrain control module (PCM) estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 revolutions per minute (rpms) for ambient temperatures near 26C (80F) and may increase to as high as 1200 rpms at -40 C (-40F). These elevated idle periods can last from 20-40 minutes, depending on ambient temperatures. During power take off (PTO) use and already using idle set point control, the elevated speed is disabled. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to the Exhaust Filter warning messages.

Some 2020-2021 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L gas engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0339 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) or the vehicle may exhibit a runs rough concern with no DTCs. This may be due to a concern with contamination on the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. If pinpoint test JD in the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual leads to CKP sensor replacement, inspect the sensor for contamination and document the results in the warranty claim. Use causal part 6C315 and utilize labor operation 12650D57D in the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2021 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L engine and Explorer/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles equipped with a 3.3L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0106 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) while in transport mode, especially when operated in higher altitudes. To correct the condition, clear the DTCs and deactivate transport mode. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-10 > General Procedures. Before starting the engine in the procedure, cycle the ignition to OFF, cycle the ignition to ON, wait ten seconds, cycle the ignition to OFF, wait ten seconds, then start the engine. If the condition remains, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual for diagnostics.
