Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 25-Jun-2023, 2022-2025 E-Transit and 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience a high voltage battery stop charging condition when using a direct current (DC) fast charger level 3 with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0EEE:27 and P2E53:27 stored in the on-board diagnostic control module A (SOBDM). This may be due to the SOBDM software. Replacement of the charge port will not resolve this concern. Inform customers that their vehicles can still be charged using a level 1 or level 2 alternating current (AC) charger. Engineering is currently working on a software solution expected in Q3 2026. Schedule an appointment with the customer when the repair becomes available. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.

Some 2022-2026 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a reduced distance to empty (DTE) projection, a high voltage battery pack state of charge (SOC) that drops from 100% to less than 90% within 60 seconds of being driven, and an inability to reach a target SOC using the scheduled charging feature without any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the battery energy control module (BECM). This may be due to an issue in one or more cells within the high voltage battery pack. To correct the condition, run the "BECM Battery Health" application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If any cells are identified as exceeding state of charge and/or capacity thresholds, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables - Electric > Pinpoint Test AP > Step AP4 and continue diagnosis. In the affected vehicles, the Battery Charger Control Module (BCCM) software does not have a transfer function that predicts the charging port pin/terminal temperature. Some customers indicate that their battery may not fully charge and/or the charge cord may become stuck in your vehicle. Customers may also experience a burning smell or melting of the charge port pins.

Confirm if the Charge Port Light toggle button is not present in the center display screen by selecting Vehicle Icon> Controls> Access> Charge Port Light toggle button, as this button has been removed after OTA update. Replacing the charge port and/or the battery charger control module (BCCM) is not recommended. This condition does not affect charge behavior and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Some 2022-2023 F-150 PowerBoost vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Midtronics DCA8000P battery tester is unable to test the auxiliary battery. Engineering is aware of this condition and updated software will be loaded in the DCA8000P battery tester in September of 2023 allowing the tester to test the auxiliary battery and generate a battery approval code and diagnostic trouble code (DTC). Follow Workshop Manual (WSM) section 414-01 Battery Diagnosis and Testing to verify battery condition. If the auxiliary battery needs to be replaced a repair validation code (RVC) is not required at this time and should be replaced following the Warranty and Policy Manual standard claiming procedures. Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U3012, P062F, and/or P0A7F in the battery energy control module (BECM) and/or P0887 in the secondary on-board diagnostic control module-B (SOBDMB) or secondary on-board control module-C (SOBDMC). This may be due to a loose 12 volt positive or negative battery cable connection or loose ground connection. Prior to performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, inspect both ends of the positive and negative battery cable connections and tighten if loose. Inspect connector C1168B and ground G127 for loose connections and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Refer to the Wiring Diagram for connector and ground locations. Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E, 2022-2023 e-Transit and F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience inoperative level 3 charging with an illuminated Charger Service Required indicator in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0D93:00, P0D94:00, P0D98:00, P0D9E:00 and/or P0DA0:00 in the secondary on-board diagnostic module (SOBDM). If the charging cord is removed from the charge port without the lock/release button fully pressed, this can damage the charge port locking pin actuator and disable level 3 charging for the next charging session. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace only the charge port lock actuator.

Some 2021-2023 F-150/Transit, 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience issues utilizing the Smart Hitch, ProPower Onboard or Onboard Scales features (if equipped) in the FordPass app. Symptoms may include inability to connect, incorrect data displayed in the app, no weight displayed, unable to power on/off the feature, unable to turn on generator mode (gas vehicles only). The connection for these features has been removed from the Android version of the FordPass app, and will soon be removed from the iOS version. The Smart Hitch and Onboard Scales will also be removed in a future FordPass release expected no later than March 1st, 2023. Full functionality of these features will remain in vehicle, but will not be controllable from FordPass. Advise the customer of the FordPass changes and do not perform any repairs for this concern.
