In some of the affected vehicles, the Electric Brake Booster (EBB) may contain a cracked solenoid valve plunger that may break and move out of position. A dislocated valve plunger may lead to the driver experiencing any of the following symptoms: Hard brake pedal, over-braking condition, and if certain other conditions are present, longer brake pedal travel with an incremental increase in stopping distance that would be accompanied by a red brake warning indicator lamp on the instrument panel cluster

There is expected to be a low number of vehicles found with a concern door handle. In some of the affected vehicles, the interior door handle may have excessive material present on the door handle cavity. This can cause the door handle cable to bind during operation. If the cable binds, it may result in a door that cannot be opened from the inside. The door can still be opened using the exterior door handle. It is also possible that the door cannot be closed. If the door will not close, the instrument cluster will illuminate with a Door Ajar warning.

Some 2020 Escape and Explorer hybrid vehicles may experience discharge of the high voltage battery (HVB) with DTCs P0DE6 and P0A7D. This may be due to the vehicle not being operated for an extended length of time or from a crank/no-start condition. Note that the voltages in the GSB do not apply to 2020 Escape and Explorer. Using the appropriate Ford scan tool, monitor PID values: HVBAT_V on 2020 Escape (at least 90V, but less than 165V)and 2020 Explorer HVBAT_V (at least 114V, but less than 210V). For both vehicles, HEV_BAT_MIN_V should be greater than 1.45V, and HEV_BAT_VAR_V less than 2.5V. Some 2020 Ford Escape vehicles equipped with the 1.5L engine my exhibit a lugging vibration and/or boom noise while driving in gears 5-8 at approximately 1500 engine revolutions per minute (RPM). This may be felt more when the engine is under a light to moderate load. A vibration and/or boom noise could be generated from the firing frequency of the 3 cylinders or when cylinder deactivation occurs and the engine is running on 2 cylinders. Compare to a like vehicle before attempting to diagnose as this condition may be characteristic. Setting the vehicle's drive mode to SPORT may eliminate the condition by changing the shift points of the transmission. Refer to the Owner's Manual for information on drive mode control and how to select them.
