Some 2020 Escape vehicles may exhibit a concern where the LH vents are warmer than the RH vents during A/C operation also may be intermittent. This may be caused by a partial restriction in the rubber portion of the 19A834 A/C line, found in WSM Section 412, Removal and Installation, Condenser Outlet Line. The evap temp sensor PID will generally read too warm due to its location toward the left hand end of the evaporator. First check system is properly charged with refrigerant. If so, and the concern is present, measure the temperature of the metal line before and after the rubber portion with a temperature gun. A difference of more than 3 degâÂÂC (5.4 deg âÂÂF) is likely due to a restriction present in the rubber portion and the 19A834 line must be replaced. Refer to WSM, Section 412. For claiming use casual part number 19A834 and applicable labor times found in the SLTS Manual.

Some 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles may exhibit a lack of power steering assist with DTC U3000 in the PSCM. This DTC is set when a battery charger is installed on the vehicle and the ignition is cycled ON. For vehicles that set this DTC due to the use of a battery charger, the DTC can be cleared and power steering assist restored without replacement of the PSCM. Using the FDRS, select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. Once cleared, cycle the ignition. Reprogram the PSCM using the latest version of FDRS. It is not recommended that a battery charger be installed and running on the vehicle when the ignition is cycled. For claiming, use causal part 3C529 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2018-2021 vehicles supported by FDRS may not list a software update for a module under the SW Updates tab although an SSM or TSB is published for a software update. This may be due to the module already being at the latest software level. A later software level may have been programmed at the assembly plant, during a previous dealer visit or by an over the air (OTA) update for vehicles that have automatic updates enabled in the SYNC system settings. To review a vehicle's OTA update history, visit the Connected Vehicle > OTA Dashboard tab in OASIS. Information about the OTA Dashboard can be found on FMCDealer.com when performing a search on OTA History Job Aid.

Some 2020-2021 Escape vehicles equipped with a HF45 transmission may exhibit a rattle noise on cold start up only when the engine is running. This noise may be more prevalent in cold weather conditions, typically at or below 0C (32âÂÂF). This may be due to the software in the secondary on-board diagnostic control module C (SOBDMC). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reprogram the SOBDMC.

Some 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine built on or Before 21-Jul-2020 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to various strategies within the PCM software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the crankcase ventilation tube assembly and reprogram the PCM.

In all of the affected vehicles, the AWD module was assembled with an incorrect transistor that controls the transition between AWD and 2WD. When this transistor fails the vehicle will remain in either AWD or 2WD and not transition between the drive states. This can cause the wrench light to illuminate in the instrument cluster.

Some 2020 Escape front-wheel drive (FWD) vehicles equipped with an 8F24 transmission may exhibit the transmission going into PARK uncommanded during a start/stop event or stay in neutral event with the engine off. There will also be an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P288B stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to various strategies within the PCM software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.

For 2018-2021 EcoSport/Expedition/Navigator, 2019-2021 Ranger/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 Escape/Explorer/SuperDuty/Transit/Aviator/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport/F-150/Mustang/Mach-E the Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics may direct to replace a module on vehicles that use Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). First, an FDRS session must be created on the vehicle prior to removing the faulted module. Once the session is started, run the Programmable Module Installation and replace the module only when instructed by FDRS. Installing a new module prior to starting a scan tool session may result in incomplete module configuration with DTCs U2100, U2101 and/or U2200. Once a session has been started, continue to follow normal WSM procedures to repair the vehicle.

Some 2020-2021 Escape and 2021 Corsair vehicles equipped with a HF45 transmission may exhibit a rattle noise on cold start up when only when engine is running. This noise may be more prevalent in cold weather conditions, typically at or below 0âÂÂC (32âÂÂF). Engineering is currently working to resolve this issue. Inform customers that Ford is working on a calibration release for end of April 2021. In the interim, let the customer know that the vehicle is safe to drive, and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late April. Once the solution becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates. Transmission replacement may not correct this concern.

Some 2020 Escape vehicles with 2.5L HEV/PHEV may exhibit a key off battery drain which results in a no crank/no start condition. The vehicle may also exhibit a yellow electric parking brake (EPB) warning lamp, Park Brake Fault and/or red EPB warning light Illumination to the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may be due to the ABS module communicating with the IPC resulting in illumination draining the battery. To correct this condition, update the antilock brake module using the latest software of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 2C219 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
