Some 2018-2021 Ford/Lincoln vehicles equipped with a wireless charging pad may exhibit an inoperative charging pad, slow charging, a notification that the phone has been mispositioned on the charging pad and/or the phone charging icon in the center screen is not showing. This may be due to the customer's phone if they are using an iPhone 12. Vehicles equipped with a wireless charging pad are designed to charge best with phones that follow the Qi standard. The iPhone 12 hardware currently does not follow the Qi standard for wireless charging. This may make it difficult for Ford and Lincoln vehicles to wirelessly charge this specific phone. The phone can still be charged using the USB cable if the vehicle experiences the above symptoms. If the customer is using an iPhone 12, verify the wireless charging pad works with a Qi certified phone prior to any part replacements.

In all of the affected vehicles, a quality concern on the molded-in color hard top roof was identified during our quality inspections. This concern is strictly an appearance issue as the function of the roof is uncompromised. The exposed or unsealed hard top edges may cause unsatisfactory appearance when exposed to extreme water and humidity.

Some 2021 Broncos equipped with the Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond and/or Badlands trim levels may exhibit a whistle noise coming from the drivers side mirror area of the vehicle. This may be due to an excessive gap between the exterior mirror cover and the glass housing. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in October 2021. Replacement of the mirror and/or mirror cover will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with Big Bend and Outer Bank trim levels may exhibit a whistle noise originating from the front of the hood area when traveling at speeds above 30 mph (50 Km/h). If the whistle noise can be eliminated by taping off the gap between the hood and grill opening, this condition may be due to the hood seal design. Hood seal replacement will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and Ford is currently working to release an improved seal design that will be available in October 2021. Follow up with the customer to schedule an appointment once OASIS confirms part availability.

Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with exterior zone lighting may experience an intermittent single hazard lamp flash when hazards are off. This condition is due to the body control module (BCM) software. This condition occurs when zone lighting is activated then deactivated while the engine is OFF, or during an engine auto-start-stop event. This condition may be temporarily suppressed by activating then deactivating the zone lighting feature while the engine is running. Module replacement will not resolve this condition. Ford is currently working on a software update that is expected to be available October 2021. The customer can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for October, when repairs are expected to become available. Follow up with the customer to confirm the appointment once OASIS confirms software availability.

Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with front and rear parking aid sensors may set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for all 8 parking aid sensors/circuits if 2 or more rear parking aid sensors/circuits have a concern. This is due to the software within the parking aid module (PAM), and module replacement will not resolve this condition. If the PAM sets DTCs for all 8 parking aid sensors/circuits, diagnose the rear parking aid sensor and circuit DTCs first. Reference Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 413-13A for parking aid diagnostic information. Ford is currently working on a software update that is expected to be available August 2021. Some 2021 Broncos equipped with exterior zone lighting may experience an intermittent single hazard lamp flash when hazards are turned off. This condition is due to a software issue within the vehicles body control module (BCM). This fault is induced anytime a customer activates then deactivates exterior zone lighting lamps while the engine is OFF. This may generate a single hazard lamp flash when the engine is shut off or during an engine auto-start-stop event. Inform customers that this condition can be temporarily corrected by activating then deactivating the exterior zone lighting feature while the engine is running. Engineering is currently working on new software to correct the condition that is expected to be available in October 2021. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for repair in November 2021. Monitor OASIS for updates.

There is expected to be a low number of vehicles found with a concern door handle. In some of the affected vehicles, the interior door handle may have excessive material present on the door handle cavity. This can cause the door handle cable to bind during operation. If the cable binds, it may result in a door that cannot be opened from the inside. The door can still be opened using the exterior door handle. It is also possible that the door cannot be closed. If the door will not close, the instrument cluster will illuminate with a Door Ajar warning
