This Preliminary information communicates to the dealer if the lane keep assist and forward collision alert are inoperative, both indicators may be flashing on and off while driving. When pressing button to turn on the lane keep assist they receive a message stating the system is not available. If the above conditions are met to verify that all of the tires are the correct size as per vehicle build. If an incorrect tire side if found on the vehicle it will cause a wheel speed discrepancy on straight road travel that will disable all driver assistance (Front Camera Module) systems relying on wheel speed sensor data inputs. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have an intermittent no crank, no start, or start stall concern with the security light coming on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes B3055, B3060, and/or B3935. Technician should not replace any parts for this concern. If unable to duplicate the concern ask if the customer uses any Radio Frequency Identification Devices when the concern is present. Dealer should also direct their customers to the appropriate section in the Owner manuals that references that the device complies.

This Preliminary information communicates to the dealer if there is a Service Power Steering message illuminated on Driver Information Center (DIC). There will be no driveability or steering related issues other than the message. Upon a GDS2 scan check DTC C0051 SYM58 (Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Performance) will be stored in the K43 Power Steering Control Module. If there are no driveability or steering issues as mentioned above, then clear out the DTC. Engineering is working on a permanent solution. As more information becomes available this PI will be updated or advanced to a bulletin.
