Technician will need to slightly bend the end of the J-38125-12A release tool. There is a purple Terminal Position Assurance that will align itself in the release position when the release tool is inserted into the release hole. There is a metal locking tab on the terminal that will need to be pushed in before the terminal will pull out of the connector.

Service Update. On certain vehicles equipped with a 6.0L gasoline engine (RPO L96) and is a fleet government vehicle (RPO GAM), the left rear middle body mount may crack and collapse causing a metal-to-metal contact. Dealers are to inspect the integrity of 10 resistance spot welds attaching the body mount internal reinforcement to the vehicle floor forward of the left rear wheel. In addition, an external reinforcement will be MIG stitch welded to the outer (under-car) side of the vehicle at the body mount area.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about being to achieve pre-load when setting up the pinion bearing pre-loads during reassembly of the 9.5/9.76 inch rear axles. Technician will need to use pinion gear install washer part number 11609638 onto the pinion shaft between the flange and nut. Tighten the pinion nut until you achieve 10 pound inch or 1.0 newton rotating torque. After the torque has been achieved back the nut off and remove the washer. Tighten the nut back down until you achieve 15 pound inch or 1.7 newton meters for used bearings or 20 pound inch 2.25 newton meters for new bearings.

Technician will inspect the quarter glass for excessive urethane. If excessive urethane is found use a sharp knife and cut off the excessive urethane. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the blower motor may be noisy or vibrate when running. This concern will only occur when the temperatures is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and if the blower motor is removed while still cold, ice may be found on the blower motor cage. This concern could be caused by water leaking or snow ingestion into the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning case. Technician is to perform normal water testing diagnostics while the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning is running, looking for water leaking past the plenum cover. If water is leaking past the cover remove the cover and install a 12x12 snow resistant screen to the fresh air intake. Reseal and install the plenum cover cap using Kent air dry sealer or equivalent.
