Some customers may comment about a rough idle and/or vibration at idle in Drive. This condition may be most noticeable following extended driving, while idling at a stop in Drive. May feel like a lopey or lumpy idle, or may be described as a low idle. This condition will not be present in Park, Reverse, or Neutral. There will not be any DTCs with this concern. When measuring using the vibration analyzer, CH-51450-A (Pico Oscilloscope), With the pico accelerometer positioned on forward end of the seat track; the concern will show in the lateral / cross-car direction as E1.5 (1.5 engine order), in the range of 2-7 mg.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0442. Technician will need to review Techlink article from May 2013 titled "Using the Evaporative Emissions System Tester" Technician will need to follow these steps to help diagnose the issue. First after the P0442 has been verified do not disturb any of the fuel system components. The technician now can use the scan tool to close the Evaporative Emissions System. If possible change the tank pressure sensor units from inch_H2O to milimeter_Hg for better resolution. Now the vehicle can be stared to monitor the tank pressure sensor output value for approximately two minutes. If the tank pressure sensor value does change, pressurize the fuel tank side of the purge solenoid with the GE 41413-A / J 41413-A and the necessary adaptors. Now add smoke and allow pressure to stabilize for 2 minutes. If smoke is allowed to pass through the purge solenoid, replace the purge solenoid. If the tank pressure sensor value does not change, then install CH-48096 adaptor between the purge line from the canister and the purge solenoid. With the Evaporative Emissions System closed, pressurize the system through the CH-48096 adaptor and allow the system to completely stabilize, by observing the Press / Vac Gauge for a minimum of 5 minutes. Now add smoke to the system with GE 41413-A / J 41413-A after system stabilization. Now inspect the purge solenoid, engine side, fuel cap, canister vent solenoid filter and any line quick connects. When the leak is unable to be located, test under a vacuum condition. his type of leak may be detected by using the scan tool Purge/Seal function to create a vacuum in the Evaporative Emissions System and then observe the FTP sensor parameter for vacuum decay.

Cause GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above condition. Engineering has a need to gather information on vehicles PRIOR to repair that may exhibit this condition. As a result, this information will be used to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.

Information on Inside Rear View Mirror and Camera Loose Some customers may comment that the inside rear view mirror or front camera is loose or that the mirror/camera mounting bracket is loose or has fallen off. If a vehicle is encountered with the above condition, do not attempt to reinstall the bracket onto the windshield. The above listed vehicles have a revised bracket design that is not serviceable. It is necessary to replace the windshield glass assembly. The bracket comes installed on the new glass assembly. Refer to Windshield Replacement in SI.

Odometer setup at the electronic service center (ESC) when using an exchange IPC/DIC. 3. Tech 2® The Tech 2 is used to set up a replacement BCM, which includes loading the odometer value that is displayed and stored in the IPC. For 2016 model year Lane Keep Assist Regular Production Option Code (UHX) replaced Lane Departure Warning Regular Production Option Code (UFL). This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have the rear vision camera system displaying "Rear Park Assist Symbols Unavailable" and the steering grid lines displayed do not show. If the vehicle is in reverse, the rear vision camera will display "Rear Park Assist Symbols Unavailable" and does not have Regular Production Option Code UD5 or UD7 the radio must be updated using Service Programming System to correct this concern. Some vehicles may not show steering guide/grid lines displayed in the Rear Vision Camera display. Dealer should communicate to the customer that steering guide/grid lines are not available with this base radio Regular Production Option Code (IO3). Some vehicles while in reverse and the rear park assist system detects an object, the warning triangle symbol is displayed on the wrong side of the radio display. Engineering is aware of the issue and updated radio/tuner calibrations will be released shortly.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for a reduced power message, steering assist, engine stall or the instrument panel, radio, and or Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning go blank with multiple diagnostic trouble codes. If any of the following diagnostic trouble codes U0073, U0078, U0029, U0028, U0415, U0140, U0126, U0121, U0101, U0100, C0544, U1510, U0073, B127B, B2605, B3600,C0800, U0428, and U0452 set in the vehicle. Check the body control module ground at the G218 location. The front dash insulator mat may be trapped between the ground eyelet and the body stud. Remove the round nut and eyelet and cut the front dash insulator mat away from the ground stud so it no longer interferes with the ground stud and reinstall the eyelet and ground nut.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a content theft alarm sounding for no apparent reason. Technician may use all published Service Information diagnostics and has not found the cause of the unwanted content theft alarm sounding. Technician should use Global Diagnostic System 2 to review the Body Control Module parameters for "Content Theft Deterrent Trigger History". This is a list of triggers that can cause a content theft alarm sounding. Driver door Passenger door, Left rear door, Right rear door, Rear closure, Tonneau Cover, Hood, Ignition Voltage, Intrusion, Inclination, Telematics enhanced service alarm, Battery reconnect detected, Unauthorized Pulse Width Modulated change, Security Indicates Tamper, and Glass Breakage. If the trigger is an Intrusion inspect for items hanging from the rear view mirror, solar powered dancing characters. When the trigger is a Glass breakage inspect the two rear quarter-panel windows and also in the liftgate glass. The quarter panel windows are attached to the body harness with a connector that looks similar to a 9 volt battery connector inspect them to be fully seated in on the glass. When the trigger is Ignition Voltage/Battery reconnect detected during a cold ambient temperature remote vehicle start event technician should call GM General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance.

Some customers may comment that the vehicle has reduced acceleration at low speed and/or transmission is slipping from a launch. Technicians may find DTC P0751 set or stored in history. This condition may be caused by the Clutch Select Solenoid Valve 2 (359), located in the lower valve body, sticking in its bore resulting in a 4th gear start. Note: This condition can be very intermittent and difficult to duplicate.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about being to achieve pre-load when setting up the pinion bearing pre-loads during reassembly of the 9.5/9.76 inch rear axles. Technician will need to use pinion gear install washer part number 11609638 onto the pinion shaft between the flange and nut. Tighten the pinion nut until you achieve 10 pound inch or 1.0 newton rotating torque. After the torque has been achieved back the nut off and remove the washer. Tighten the nut back down until you achieve 15 pound inch or 1.7 newton meters for used bearings or 20 pound inch 2.25 newton meters for new bearings.
