Technician should be advised that Traffic and Weather data from local reporting stations and then send the updated info process may take up to 24 minutes. Technician should test for full operation of the XM band if the system has not started receiving the Traffic and weather update within 30 minutes. Also ensure the customer has not shut XM NavTraffic off in the user settings of the navigation radio. Technician will need to contact XM customer assistance to review the account status and verify that the XM Traffic option has been enabled and is available in the area.

Brake Pedal Override Feature ?, transmission busy or frequent shifting up or down. Technician will use this preliminary information to find the brake pedal position data parameters in the scan tool, and also to provide some additional diagnostic help. These issues may be caused by an incorrect brake pedal position sensor input to the engine control module. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a surge or stall when in gear at a stop. Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0742. Technician will need to isolate if the concern is transmission internal or external. Technician will need to disconnect the 20 way connector at the transmission (C-175 for model years 2001 ? 2007 and X-175 for model years 2008 ? 2013). On 2006 ? 2013 model years, using a fused jumper wire, connect terminal R of the automatic transmission inline 20-way connector to a known good ground. Technician can now run the vehicle to duplicate the concern. If the vehicle still stalls the concern has been isolated to the transmission. Inspect the Torque Converter Clutch solenoid and valve in the main valve body. If the vehicle does not stall inspect wiring between the Transmission Control Module and transmission if no concern is found swap the Transmission Control Module into a known good vehicle after clearing any Diagnostic Trouble Codes to determine if the concern follows the Transmission Control Module.

Technician should be advised that the catalytic converter efficiency Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0420 and P0430 are disabled for the first hour of engine run time to allow break-in of the catalytic converter. Technician will need to use a Tech2 to check the verify engine run time on the Engine Hour Meter in the Instrument Panel Cluster Data Display/Data 1 List in the scan tool match. If the engine run time is less than one hour, the battery may have been disconnected, or another vehicle power loss event may have occurred, during vehicle manufacturing. Technician will need to clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and perform a drive cycle. If the catalytic converter was replaced and the Diagnostic Trouble Codes set it may be a result of the engine run time restrictions no longer being in place since the vehicle is no longer new. Technician will need to clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and perform a drive cycle.
