This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about the text messaging feature on some newer General Motors infotainment systems. Pair the iPhone to the system then enter the Bluetooth settings menu, select the “i” icon next to the vehicle name in the device and enable show notifications. The text messaging feature will be available on the next ignition cycle. However with iPhones text messages cannot be responded to when using the infotainment system, they can only be received. For android devices pair the phone to the system during the pairing process the phone will ask you to allow the vehicle to access the device contacts. A second question will pop up on the device asking to allow the vehicle to access the message access profile. Both have to be allowed for the text messaging feature to work.

17019 02 - Customer Satisfaction Program. Certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5L LFV engine may have a pre-ignition condition that could cause piston damage. If this condition occurs, the vehicle may perform poorly and oil consumption could increase. In addition, a service engine light may illuminate indicating an engine misfire. If the condition is present, and the repair below is not completed before multiple pre-ignition events occur, a piston may be damaged and the engine may need to be repaired or replaced. Dealers are to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) and change the engine oil with ACDelco dexos 1 Full-Synthetic motor oil of the part number as indicated in the parts section. It is very important that only oil with the correct part number is used in this repair.

The rear view camera brightness can be adjusted on some models while the transmission is in reverse and using the Menu or Select button. 17259 - Service Update. Some vehicles may have excessive current feedback to the DC-DC converter module through the OnStar battery backup wiring connected to the main battery. 17166 - Emissions Recall. General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Recall on certain vehicles. On some vehicles an electrical connector on the drive motor power inverter module may not have been properly connected during vehicle assembly. If this electrical connector becomes disconnected the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate. Dealers will inspect the drive motor power inverter module connector and ensure that it is properly connected.
