Technician will gain access to the front wheelhouse of the affected side. The front wheel house flange may have a void in the sealer causing water to leak through and accumulate on the floor or wet carpet will be found. A thumb grade sealer will need to be placed in the void to prevent the water leak into the cabin.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for a concern with the radio going blank briefly after an auto stop event and the engine is cranking to restart. This concern could be related to an open in circuit 6386 at the x1115 connector. Cavity 34 or 2 of the dual battery control module may be open on these circuits and repair as needed. The negative battery connections at the auxiliary battery should be checked along with using the GR8 battery tester to test the auxiliary battery with the cables disconnected. Check the integrity of the X4 connector at the X50D battery fuse block and make sure the F4UB 175 amp fuse is tight in the X50D battery fuse block.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about the text messaging feature on some newer General Motors infotainment systems. Pair the iPhone to the system then enter the Bluetooth settings menu, select the “i” icon next to the vehicle name in the device and enable show notifications. The text messaging feature will be available on the next ignition cycle. However with iPhones text messages cannot be responded to when using the infotainment system, they can only be received. For android devices pair the phone to the system during the pairing process the phone will ask you to allow the vehicle to access the device contacts. A second question will pop up on the device asking to allow the vehicle to access the message access profile. Both have to be allowed for the text messaging feature to work.

Technician should review the appropriate Service Information diagnostics for DTC U0101. Also gather all other diagnostic trouble codes in the vehicle and which modules they are set in. The transmission connector pins should be checked for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit. Also inspect the under hood fuse block for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit and mis-positioned fuses in fuse block. Inspect the ground for the Transmission Control Module. Technician should refer to Service Information automatic transmission controls schematics to determine the ground identification.
