Gearbox malfunction message in cluster. DTCs P17D800, P179D00, P174000, P174C, P174B, P174F, P179C, P174A, and/or P174E are stored in the transmission control module. Fault codes and symptom codes must match exactly or this TSB should not be followed. Poor internal contact area on circuit board will lead to faults. Oil additives can cause the plastic circuit plates to delaminate, causing contact loss.

Gearbox warning light on (DTCs P179E00, P179F00, P0700, P060A). The driver information system displays the message "gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving". There are two scenarios present. Scenario 1 is that entries are logged individually or in combination, with P179E logged first (using DTC environmental data).The entries are DTC P179E (Drive position sensor electrical error), DTC P0700 with DFCC 20196 (Transmission control system malfunction), DTC P1758 with DFCC 8464 (Terminal 15 voltage supply open circuit), and DTC P060A with DFCC 8126, 8345 (Internal control module monitoring processor performance) In this scenario, if DTC P179E is not logged first, this TSB does not apply. Scenario 2 is that entries are logged individually or in combination. The order in which the DTCs are logged is not relevant. The entries are DTC P179E with DFCC 8050, 8051, 8052, 8053, 17595, 17596, 17597, 17598, 17602 (Drive position sensor electrical error), DTC P179F with DFCC 8054, 8055, 8056, 8057, 17599, 17600, 17601 (Drive position sensor malfunction), DTC P0716 with DFCC 8096, 8101, 18153, 20738 (Input turbine/speed sensor ?A? circ. range/performance), DTC P171F with DFCC 8097, 8102, 18154 (Transmission input speed (RPM) sensor 2 implausible signal), DTC P0715 with DFCC 8094, 8103, 18161 (Input turbine/speed sensor ?A? circuit.), DTC P2765 with DFCC 8095, 8104 (Input turbine/speed sensor ?B? circuit), DTC P0501 with DFCC 8098 (Vehicle speed sensor ?A? range/performance), and DTC P2159 with DFCC 8099 (Vehicle speed sensor ?B? range/performance). Fault codes and DFCC codes must match exactly for this TSB to apply. The DFCC is the 4-6 digit code that is typically listed before the fault code. Incorrect driving mode sensor module.

When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer.

The traffic feature in the MMI navigation is inoperative. If the vehicle is a model year 2016 A6 or A7, see TSB 2042013: 91 Audi connect online destination search, Google Earth navigation view, or INRIX online traffic is not available. There is a known server issue that can only be resolved through a change to the Audi AG backend server. Audi has changed traffic providers over the years as new technologies have developed. Customer may report that the steering wheel vibrates or pulsates when the brakes are applied. driving style, environmental conditions, and service history of the vehicle. Additionally, as brake pads and discs wear, their dampening ability is reduced. Disc thickness variation (DTV) is a common condition that contributes to brake pulsation. DTV occurs when the two braking surfaces of the brake disc are no longer parallel to each other. This condition cannot be accurately measured with normal workshop tools.

The customer may report that the handheld transmitter cannot be programmed to the garage door opener control module, J530. The customer?s door opener system may not be compatible with J530. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. The customer may misunderstand the programming procedure, particularly if the customer?s HomeLink® opener system is using an alternate code. The handheld transmitter?s programming function may become inoperative, or the transmitter is too far away from J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530.
