Swapping control modules may result in consequential damage to the swapped control module and in certain cases several other control modules in the vehicle. Swapping the Driver Information Module (DIM) is strictly forbidden as the DIM it is the main carrier of the odometer function, and will, in case of swapping, result in manipulated odometer value. Service: Please do NOT swap any control modules from vehicle to vehicle for testing, unless instructed to do so in a Vehicle Report by the Technical Helpdesk

This is a Technical Journal: A whining or rattling sound may appear when revving up the engine. ( see attached sample files ). The sound may come from the balance shaft which is fitted in the oil sump area where the noise is most concentrated. A new design of the balance shaft is planned to be introduced 2018-Q2. Replace the balance shaft according the instructions in VIDA. Note: It's extremely important to adjust the new balance shaft with the correct tools according the instructions otherwise the sound may occur again in a short mileage.

Volvo Car USA LLC and Volvo Car Canada LTD (Volvo) on behalf of Volvo Car Corporation, has decided to launch Service Action S39893 on certain model year 2017 - 2018 XC90 and 2018 XC60 and S90 vehicles. Volvo has identified that the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM) backup battery may be depleted while the vehicle is plugged in and charging the high voltage battery. This could result in a ?Volvo On Call Service Required? message displayed in the Driver Information Module (DIM). This condition has no effect on the vehicle?s drivability or performance.

The customer may report that the infotainment system in the vehicle re-starts or reboots intermittently while driving. When this happens the CCD and the center area of the DIM will go blank for a few moments and then start back up as if the vehicle has just been started up. The customer may also notice that the infotainment system is not responding as normal (ex.- long response time) just before this occurs. When the system reboots, some customer settings may change back to a previous setting (ex.- navi destination, climate settings, radio station, etc.)

This is a Technical Journal: The noise comes from the rubber material(drive shaft bellow) which creates a certain friction and may create a noise when temperature are cold. To protect the throttle housing when using Volvo Car Showmode kit in the specified cars, always remove the connector from the throttle housing (see picture 34206.jpg) A new software for the BRIGO device is under development to avoid this damage. This is a Technical Journal: Title II-TPMS calibration after SW upgrade In the new SW, released May 2019, the picture in the Centre Display for I-TPMS is showing a "spinning wheel", while calibration is ongoing. The calibration function itself is not changed compared to previous SW versions, it is only how it is presented in the center display that has been changed.A new calibration will start automatically as soon as the VDDM SW is upgraded.
